Goodbye, long waiting times! Centrelink services will now be faster with this major staffing boost

Well I will believe it when I see it. Would take more than are in training to make any difference to wait times as far as I can see. I have a relative in Centrelink and they are always recruiting so I don’t think this is a magic bullet.

Bunnings under fire for its controversial and 'tacky' Christmas decoration

Sure it’s commercialised just like birthdays and Easter etc etc. and those times are just as sad for the examples you’ve given. Oh and pagan is spelt with an “a”

Discover why Coles shoppers are ditching champagne and steak for these alternatives ahead of the holiday season

I remember when butchers used to give me lamb shanks for my dogs for free! And who wanted lamb or pork shoulder when you could have a delicious leg roast ? Haha how times have changed. I love pulled pork or lamb shoulder - just can’t afford to buy it.

Bunnings under fire for its controversial and 'tacky' Christmas decoration

Not a fan. While Ned Kelly is an historical Aussie figure maybe not one we should Be so proud of? 🤷‍♀️ I do like the idea of Aussie Christmas decorations but what about Santa on a kangaroo?

Woman emerges victorious after 18-month court battle over 'unfair' $413 fine

Quite a few years ago early one Saturday morning on his way to our factory my husband was pulled up for “not wearing his seatbelt”. If it is one thing my husband is adamant about it’s wearing seatbelts. For years he drove speedway cars and understands the necessity. Anyway he said to the...

Airbnb guest slammed with absurd 'checkout chores'—is the cleaning fee justified?

I don’t see anywhere it says to deep clean the kitchen and bathroom? Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s fair to take your own rubbish and leave the place tidy and swept. The cleaner still has to wipe down everything and vacuum and mop all floors and do the bedding. It wouldn’t be a hardship...

Qantas ticket price hike sparks outrage amid living cost crisis: 'We have no choice'

Well I’d say if you can’t afford the airfares domestic take the time to drive. But who can afford to drive anywhere for fun these days. At least it appears even with struggles some people can still afford holidays 🤷‍♀️

Prominent Labor Leader and Former Governor-General Bill Hayden passes away at 90

It doesn’t hurt to honour the good things achieved by an Australian leader which has benefited all of us. I wonder how he felt about the current administration. Ashamed I would think.

Centrelink employees go on a 24-hour strike over pay negotiations

Absolutely. I have a family member who works in Centrelink and has so many benefits on top of a high wage. I’m happy for her but I don’t think they can complain and yes like you I have waited up to just over 2 hours to get an answer then I don’t get much in the way of any helpful advice 🤷‍♀️

Plus-size traveller demands size-inclusive amenities, and proposes larger hallways and elevators

I’m afraid I think it’s ridiculous. For example if you can’t fit into an elevator or walk down a hallway then you seriously need to re evaluate your health goals.

Centrelink employees go on a 24-hour strike over pay negotiations

Maybe they should start earning the money they are paid by giving some decent customer service.

Customers fuming after ALDI's 'overnight' price surge: ‘It's getting ridiculous!’

Yes I agree. Aldi is not the cheaper option in a lot of cases now. I spread my shopping list between supermarkets and also go to fresh food markets where the quality is wonderful and prices are generally below supermarket. All it takes is a little effort in organisation and price comparing...

Is Woolworths putting your health at risk? Free naturopath consultations spark experts’ concern

Same here. I have always preferred natural health practices but now if I need to see a doctor I feel like I have to be ready for a fight to protect my rights.

Is Woolworths putting your health at risk? Free naturopath consultations spark experts’ concern

“Though naturopathy is a potentially unsubstantiated form of healthcare, what has made this questionable is that the consultations are complemented by a retail pharmacy that stocks vitamins and supplements.” Ok so I ask - what is the difference here than medical practitioners using retail big...

Is Woolworths putting your health at risk? Free naturopath consultations spark experts’ concern

The medical profession only has a problem with this because of their innate problems with any natural health practitioners. They do not want people turning away from the very lucrative medical practices. The issue here is definitely not their concern for the general public and their health -...
