Macquarie Bank clients have a few days left to adapt to major 'digital only' overhaul

I totally agree especially as not only are they going cashless but they are refusing to let people bank cheques, including bank cheques from other branches. This means that their customers are unable to accept cheques as payment (or gifts) so in effect, Macquarie Bank is also forcing it's...

Attention Centrelink recipients: Claim your energy bill rebate!

I'm in NSW and just had $125.00 Aus Govt Bill Relief on my latest electricity bill. I don't understand why it's a different amount in every state though. Aren't we supposed to be one country?

Kitchen chaos: When pizza sauce goes boom!

I have never used a pressure cooking for that self same reason. They are way too dangerous.

Shocking photo of grandmother attacked in her own home released by police

Not only in Victoria. It seems to be the norm Australia wide. The police catch them and the courts let them go. There is no justice for law abiding citizens anymore. I am glad that policewoman killed that guy in Bondi as he probably would have wound up in a psychiatric hospital for a few...

Shocking photo of grandmother attacked in her own home released by police

That poor woman. To fight cancer for two years and be on the mend finally, only to have this happen. It's disgraceful and those responsible need the harshest of punishment.

Swimmers beware: This deadly danger at a popular spot could put your life at risk

Too cold to go swimming now, at least it is for me but for those who still do, they need to be mindful of their surrounds.

ALDI's card surcharge sparks concerns among shoppers

I am confused by this article as Aldi have always charged a surcharge for paying by credit card. The fee may have gone up, and this is what the article is referencing, but the fee has always been there.

Are you missing out on Rent Assistance? Here’s how to check if you’re eligible

Trouble is, Labor didn't cause this problem. If the Libs/Nat party get back in with their intolerance and disrespect for the elderly/less fortunate, nothing will change and will probably get worse.

Are you missing out on Rent Assistance? Here’s how to check if you’re eligible

You are so right there. Dutton is a millionaire (investment properties, shopping centre) so he will never reverse negative gearing or anything else which would make housing more affordable and/or cause rents to come down.

Are you missing out on Rent Assistance? Here’s how to check if you’re eligible

You are lucky to have family that can help you in this situation. Not everyone has that. Having said this though, I do sincerely hope that things get better for you. Unfortunately, while our politicians are allowed to have investment properties, the rental crisis will never end as heaven...

Are you eligible? Aussies are now getting health insurance coverage for as low as $3.22 per day thanks to little-known government rebates!

This is why I don't have private health cover now. I had it when my children were living at home then stopped when I had health cover at work. Way too expensive now that I am retired.

Woolworths' new self-checkout rule triggers customer uproar—here's why!

I always use service checkouts too but not because I don't want to do their job for them. It's because I hope by doing so I am keeping someone in a job.

Woolworths' new self-checkout rule triggers customer uproar—here's why!

It's a nuisance yes, but necessary given the amount of shoplifting that occurs. It never worries me and I always have my receipt in hand.

Statewide bank branch closure triggers outrage: 'This is an outrageous decision'

This is all about profit and shareholder dividends. The powers that be could care less about their customers. Commonwealth Bank has been closing branches hand over fist in rural areas for years. This is just the next step. I hope BankWest customers take their business elsewhere. I also feel...

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

I gave up too and ended up physically going into the Centrelink office. Not an easy feat when you are on 24/7 oxygen.
