Global health concerns rise as new respiratory virus sparks alarm and parallels to COVID-19

Why is it always China where these virus's come from???

Is $15 too steep for a reusable bag? Coles shoppers have their say

I have these exact same bags but I bought them from my local fruit and veg shop. Not sure if they still do it, but they used to give you one if you spent over a certain amount but that was many years ago. Or you could buy them for $3 each but they have now gone up to $5 each which is a far...

Is Australia ready to ditch Union Jack? Bold move that could redesign national flag forever!

That is true, but we have the Federation Star to set us apart. Personally, I'd like to see it stay the same but the Southern Cross and Federation Star would be a good replacement, in my opinion.

Economist proposes controversial change to superannuation: ‘It’s a really ugly mark’

My sister practically did that. They accessed their super early and have completely drained them dry and now have nothing to fall back on when they are going to need it. Leave Super as it is.

Is Australia ready to ditch Union Jack? Bold move that could redesign national flag forever!

That's what I've always said. If it HAS to be changed, just keep the Southern Cross. Can't get much more Australian than that.

Is your rubbish about to pile up? Thousands of homes face imminent mess as garbage collectors walk out

Wow, even our good old Seniors Discount Club is going Americanised. I thought we called our "sidewalks" footpaths here in good old Australia. I know we do in Perth. Sad, sad.

Council issues warning over ‘brain-eating’ threat at popular swimming spot as temperature soar

We have a few places like that in Perth that quite often get warnings not to swim in or not to put your head under the water as there are parasites in the water that can lead to serious things. It is not scaremongering as you put it. It is merely letting people know what to expect if they go...

'Do I need a reason?': One restaurant's policy draws flak among Aussie food enthusiasts

Wow, we are becoming more Americanised by the day. We don't tip in Australia because the staff are paid a decent wage, not like USA. Please, please, please, let us stay Australian and stop all this USA rubbish.

    Facebook

Facebook Can someone please explain to me why we all need to have a Facebook Account. I've never had one and never will but these days, it seems you have to have one to enter competitions. Years ago, you could just go onto their website and enter the comp from there but now you have to...

'What is happening': Shoppers share glaring sight at one Coles store

I'm imagining the only people worried about this are the people that are shoplifting. Honest shoppers shouldn't care as long as they are buying their meat. My kids used to work at our local IGA and said that the amount of meat that used to be stolen was beyond a joke. They'd be shoved up...

Shocking Label: How 'Cookies' Sparked Outrage at a Royal Event over Anzac Biscuits!

I'm sick of the Americanisms infiltrating our wonderful way of speech, renaming things, changing the spelling of things. We are known all over the world for our way of speaking and keeping things Australian should stay exactly that. Its a biscuit, not a cookie.!!!!
