Fewer councillors, more money? Why this local government wants to slash 60 councillors

My first thought when I saw the headline was more money to be spent on community things but clearly not. Don't we already hear about Councils abusing their extra money etc. The majority of people who run for Council do not appear to have any qualifications for the job so hardly warrant higher...

When tattoos meet traditions: The bridesmaid dilemma that's dividing Australian families

I could understand it if the bride and other bridesmaids didn't have any tattoos but it should have been discussed at the very beginning before decisions made. Not cool to bring it up later in the day especially when dresses have been made, bought, paid for etc. Far too late in the day.

    Leg cramps

Elevating your legs regularly so they are higher than your heart can also help. Just pop them on a couple of cushions or pillows.

After 23 years calling the shots: Channel Seven farewells beloved sports presenter Matt Carmichael

But why are they letting decent people go when they have to turn around and replace them. Clearly it will be for a lot less money but maybe they all need to take a substantial pay cut, especially starting from the top. Wonder if they thought of that🤔

Convicted former NSW minister: From prison cell to political exile

But he was actually convicted so therefore guilty and in prison and getting paid a hefty sum by the taxpayers. That is so wrong on so many levels and shows the laws absolutely do need to be changed and quickly.

This mall tragedy sparks urgent calls for safer shopping centre car parks. What happened?

How did the drivers get out without marking your car. You should not be allowed to hem someone in. I would be going to the information kiosk and having their rego called over the loudspeaker to please go to their car immediately. You could have an urgent appointment and it's not good enough...

Remember when chocolate was pocket change? Now some bars cost $33 and shoppers are divided

I just wouldn't pay it on principle. I love Old Gold dark chocolate and Lindt dark but refuse to pay the prices today. It just keeps going up and up so it's something I will do without thank you. I will find other ways to have occasional treats. At the way the world is going maybe eating...

Chantelle has done really well and it shows what you can do if you put your mind to it. That's a huge weekly saving and will soon add up.

This mall tragedy sparks urgent calls for safer shopping centre car parks. What happened?

I think this is a good case of where it's a great idea for all cars to back into carparks then it's easy out. Some schools it's compulsory and it is probably for this very reason. I have also watched some people driving the bigger vehicles at schools picking up children and they have no idea...

Certainly never heard of him or seen him but sounds like he was a great presenter and hope retirement is all that he and his family hope.

Opposition leader signals Centrelink cuts! Here’s what they don't want you to know

It's a broken record, the political parties don't care, they are driven by their own needs and desires and what they collect in life after. Self serving so what else do we expect. At the end if the day they probably think they are doing us huge favours and we should be grateful which is ...

An era ends: Sydney's most awarded Vietnamese restaurant closes after 23 years

They are likely to open up something somewhere, watch this space but lots of great restaurants are closing all over Australia and have been for years. Have lost some really fabulous ones over the years jn Perth and decent ones are hard to come by.

Opposition leader signals Centrelink cuts! Here’s what they don't want you to know

They are definitely looking in the wrong direction for where they could be saving bigger monies. They have an absolute nerve if you ask me and just when you think there's a chance labour won't get voted in next time they go and shoot themselves in the foot. You do have to wonder!

Would you pay $36 to be served raw chicken? THIS trend is splitting opinions

If I am dining out I am paying for a cooked meal and expect it to come out cooked. That's a disaster waiting to happen. Not sure if anyone in this club has actually been and given it a go? Would be interesting to hear what they thought.

Would you pay for telly bills that cost more than a run to the supermarket? Here's what Apple's latest price hike means for your budget

Likewise, never have and never will. There are enough tv programs to keep me happy znd rarely watch programs on the smart tv but one day. If people cancelled their subscriptions with the cost of living crisis they might get the picture and bring them back down. Just bloody rude in my opinion.

Would you declare flowers at customs? THIS actress didn’t and paid a $2,000 price

I do the same and have everything handy for them to look at that may be a problem, lollies from NZ or wood things etc. Have never had tomoay, dispose but always let them know and usually write on the customs card and just get waved through.
