Australia’s care crisis is growing—is your family ready for the challenge?

I absolutely agree. I remember when my elderly friend was out of hospital and unable to look after herself and I was looking after her, and changing her stoma, doing her washing, taking her to appointments, the nurses said I would qualify for carers allowance. What a performance it is to apply...

Is this luxury development about to change the face of this peaceful Aussie holiday town?

When developers are building they always want the water views as do the tourists who want a very short walk to the beach. That is progress. So long as it is not a high rise tower it should be a win, win.

Australia’s care crisis is growing—is your family ready for the challenge?

That's a great idea Suzanne Rose but it would take the Government at least 5 years to get something like that off the ground. They can't move fast if their life depended on it.

Landlords say pets destroy homes—tenants say they’re family. Who’s right?

They obviously didn't do any inspections, that would have sorted that problem alot earlier. You do have to stay on top of properties and for this reason I have never bern interested. You are either very lucky or can be extremely unlucky and not worth the stress in my opinion.

Checkout checkpoint shows why new exit gates leave shoppers divided

They are absolutely in their rights to do this and it will actually stop prices rising because of theft so it will be a good thing for all once rolled out across the board and theft is down or stamped out. I certainly don't have a problem with it. The majority of people I would hazzard a guess...

When words vanish live on air…Kyle’s stroke scare delivered a chilling warning you can’t ignore

I don't like him and don't listen to him being over here in the west. But it goes to show all the money in the world and in his case as well, health scares doesn't give him common sense to do something about it. Give up the junk food, start taking small walks with his family and he would be...

Luxury car owners face shock as dodgy move puts vehicles at risk

I know the car is an older model but a lexus is still an expensive vehicle so if they need to save money perhaps trade their car in. It's often the people with the most money trying to penny pinch the most where they shouldn't.

Remember when cash was king? Some experts say it could all vanish in just three years

Actually major outages seem to happen during the day especially here in WA and if you don't have cash you can't buy anything. Always carry cash for just that purpose as when you least expect it, that's when it will happen. Cash will always have a place in society and the majority of us are not...

Dishwasher mistakes costing seniors hundreds and the unexpected items safe to wash inside

We only recently got a dishwasher when we renovated our kitchen a couple of years ago and I love it and now that I have to sell and move will be making sure there is room at least to buy one even if one is not in the house. We noticed a difference in water and electricity usage and great not to...

What do you think is the worst part about living in Australia? Locals share their confessions

I came over from NZ with my two daughters and an ex partner back in 1987 to Perth and have stayed here and wouldn't live anywhere else. Still have 1 daughter here with her family so that makes life perfect. Cost of living here is not great but reckon it is biting everywhere so we just have to...

Landlord tries to charge tenant $312 for having hair that falls out in the shower... Here's why that's completely wrong

I don't think everyone does. I do but alot of younger people don't. And people look without seeing gunk in their drains. Regular easy cleans can save massive blockages.

Auto-tipping is creeping into Aussie dining—fair reward or sneaky fee?

You can't really agree up front as you don't know if you are going to get a decent meal ir decent service and you shouldn't have to tip for decent. You expect that anyway as that is what your basic bill is for. It needs to be amazing service and a brilliant meal to deserve a tip. It is not an...

Auto-tipping is creeping into Aussie dining—fair reward or sneaky fee?

I definitely don't think tipping should be a regular thing here. Wages are high enough to prevent this practice and how do we even know it goes to the staff and not straight to the owners. A very slippery slope I reckon.

$788 million in sales! Why this small chain is winning where Coles and Woolies aren’t

That's a great idea. I am just putting my home on the market so will wait until I have sold and found my new place and do this.

No dog deserves this—so why are drivers still doing it?

They should be banned from owning pets that's for sure. Arrogant and selfish and no respect for their animal's safety and welfare.

It’s not just the prices: Shoppers reveal why they really love this budget grocer

We have some really great independent fruit and vegetable places here in Perth but they are also very expensive so nothing like what these ones are saying they sell stuff for.

$788 million in sales! Why this small chain is winning where Coles and Woolies aren’t

It's nice to hear small family supermarkets doing well. None over here in WA that know of. Definitely not interested in Spud shed I think their fruit and veg whenever I have been there are rubbish so not my shop of choice.
