    Joke What do you see?

I had an art teacher in high school who told me I had “no creativity”. Sadly, I thought he was right so gave up on art. But I wore a lot of makeup when I was young. I suppose that was my artistic creativity! 😉

'Was I unreasonable for bringing my own food to a wedding?'

Cross contamination of food can be a real problem despite the understanding and care of the caterers in that situation. Not worth taking a chance. The wedding guest did the right thing. The groom’s mother should have kept her meddlesome mouth shut. 🤐 She just wanted to cause trouble.

Styling your hair shouldn’t come with hidden health risks—scientists reveal what to watch for

Oh dear! 🙄 What’s next? Don’t those researchers at Purdue University have anything better to research? 🔬 🧐

Artistic or inappropriate? This pole dancing fair performance has everyone talking

One of my daughters used to do pole dancing as just another form of exercise. Not easy to do and was not done in a way that some think of as sexualised.

Major energy bill shake-up puts savings front and centre for Australian households

Thank you @7777 for you interest and time with this matter. I’ll see what I can do. I am in WA (Perth), so I’d have to find out if they help or can direct me to a Strata Management service here. Once again, thank you 7777.

When healthcare fails our most vulnerable: The incident that exposes gaps in patient care

Too many jump to conclusions before knowing all the facts. We can express our opinions, but to judge the people involved is ignoring what the total story is. Perhaps there was fault on both sides; hospital staff involved and the patient.

Major energy bill shake-up puts savings front and centre for Australian households

I wish I could change my electricity provider. I’ve had a quick look into it but, but the strata company in the apartment building I live in dictates the rules. If I want to change, I’d have to move. It wasn’t like this when I first moved in three years ago.

    Ask Joy: R U OK?

You must feel very proud and strong with your achievements @Sherril54, and rightly so. Very important that you had the moral support of your (late) Aunt. I should think you wouldn’t feel so alone. But it doesn’t make the problems any less. It’s strange that if we knew ahead of time what life...

From Thailand to rescue: How one pensioner's plight exposes Australia's hidden crisis

I wonder if Marcus turned a blind eye to his “wife’s” addiction. Surely he would know she needed help by her behaviour. Then to see their son was also a meth addict. Pikun’s mother Ting probably was too. And wouldn’t he wonder where she’d be getting the money from to pay for her habit? Possibly...

From Thailand to rescue: How one pensioner's plight exposes Australia's hidden crisis

The “fat 60 something” was robbed because he was “blind drunk”, not because he was a “Yank”. I’d bet the Javanese thieves had plenty of practice stealing from drunk men from various countries.

Not everyone is married to a meth addict.

    Ask Joy: R U OK?

Thank you for your kind words about me @Sherril54. You’re so right that everyone has a story to tell. It’s sad if they want to talk about it but there’s no one to listen. I may not have answers, but I’m a good listener. Bad times in the past that can seem hopeless, are actually lessons that...
