    You are allowed to have quite a large sum of money in savings but the interest you earn from it at the deeming rate is counted as income which will reduce your pension which is nothing new except the deeming rate will go up but shouldn’t hurt too much. The old saying of you can’t have your cake...

    Firstly, the headline is a bit of scaremongering which is not very nice. Secondly the only people affected by this would be pensioners with very large sums of savings. Take a breath before you panic.
