    Matchsticks

We had these at the school canteen and they were popular. Our local cake shop has something similar still - it has all the old favourites. Though not good for the heart health though!

Delivery delays ignite online backlash after social media explodes in popularity

Our Australia Post delivery driver is a lovely lady who is an exception - always rings the bell waits and stops for a quick chat. Our postman is the same. The old style customer service with people who like and enjoy their job (something that is falling away now).

Should wedding guests be marched off the venue for wearing the wrong colour? THIS bride thinks so

The one thing I love about our country is freedom especially freedom of choice! It seems that we as a society are getting very much about 'control' in so many ways. Here is another example.

Spring brings fresh deals as September delivers the best-value fruits and vegetables across Australia

The strawberries from Wollies the last few weeks have been so nice, we have bought many punnets and they have been quite cheep at $2.50. Good to see that I have been eating something good for a change!

Silent housing struggle meets bold council action underground

What a great idea - we need more to be done to protect our native wildlife.

Goodbye to Neighbours, Prisoner, and more? Nunawading Studios shuts down after 60 years

This is sad for such an iconic site. It could have been turned into a TV museum that captured the past with props, sets, costumes etc all from some the past classics forever on display. Its sad when we lose some iconic buildings that had impact and are an important part of our history.

    Easy Mango and Passionfruit Trifles

We live in Moorebank but shop at Roselands often as there is always easy parking and not much traffic down the M5. Can be there in 20 minutes. Beats traffic and congestion in Liverpool and parking is horrendous.

    Easy Mango and Passionfruit Trifles

My Mum used to do something similar to this but with peaches and apricots. Brought back good memories. Will try this maybe next week, love mangoes. As an aside, we tried Zia's kitchen on Wednesday from your recommendation. How nice it was! The chocolate and Nutella milkshake was something...

Great payment divide: Amazon's Afterpay move highlights how different generations shop

Young people want everything now and are happy to get into debt. We were taught to have goals and save for what we wanted learning the value of money. The only thing we ever got a loan for was our home. This helped us appreciate and value what we worked hard for. I do not think that the younger...

Drivers could gain back hours with surprising traffic change

Gosh, I thought Sydney traffic was the worst, can't believe how much Brisbane has changed then. I find that this is a good idea for traffic flow. We have one of these left turns onto a main road near where we live and it really helps with traffic flow. The lights here are exceptionally slow...

GPs reveal why this hay fever season is worse than ever! Here is the simple step to shield yourself

I have been not so good the last couple of weeks with hay fever. Don't know if it is old age or the air / climate has changed somewhat. Used to get a little bit of hay fever, but nothing like this year and it is early. My little dog has already adjusted to day light saving time last weekend and...

Should Kmart even be selling these items? The surprising legal truth behind the $10 controversy

This is a silly and possibly dangerous move by K-Mart. Years ago I was pulled over late at night by a car with a flashing red and blue light in the grill of the car whilst travelling along the highway. I pulled over and stopped. Four thuggish young men got out of the car. I felt like something...

Struggling to swallow could be a sign of this hidden condition - Learn about dysphagia today!

Yes, I have seen this. I know that it takes time to puree the food but putting it together and blending makes it look so unappealing and takes the joy out of eating. By presenting the food in portions at least gives some dignity in enjoying the taste of the meal keeping as normal as possible but...

Struggling to swallow could be a sign of this hidden condition - Learn about dysphagia today!

My Mum suffered this in the last year of her life. She had Parkinsons and loved her food. She had to have special meals, pureed food and liquids. She lost so much weight and really just gave up as she could no longer enjoy eating. It was an awful experience for her to go through and also us...

    Gestetner machines

As a teacher I used the old gestetner to off to run off worksheets and booklets for students. I hated cutting the master as you had to type and try not to make a mistake. If you did, you needed to correct with a pink nail polish type corrector and then type over once dried. It was so time...

Are you paying too much for breakfast? Outrage erupts over shocking cafe prices!

It's all of the overheads and costs that are killing our restaurants and cafes. Most are struggling to provide quality and reasonable costs to customers. It is no wonder that many are closing down as they cannot stay afloat. Eating out has become a luxury not just something you regularly do.

Hospital pneumonia kills Wollongong man waiting for aged care bed

I was a person who was against VAD until I watched and experienced the last weeks of my mother's and brother's long drawn out deaths. The loss of dignity, pain and suffering in those last weeks were horrendous. VAD, now I believe, provides a dignified and peaceful way to end the approaching...

Facebook Marketplace $120,000 car theft turns into seller’s worst nightmare

Trusting people today is a very difficult thing to do, you just do not know any more - so many scams, dishonest people and companies out to rip you off. You once were able to feel cautious around certain types of people, now it could be anyone. What a different society there is today which is...
