Retired and still worried about money? A new superannuation change is sparking fresh fears

Not a problem on my mediocre balance, but I think it stinks that ALL younger workers will be affected as they'll nearly ALL be the ones with balances over $3m by retirement age, but that $3m will be worth so much less to them by then with inflation gobbling into it!

Volunteer community transport cuts back social outings for aged care clients

Pretty sure it's actually almost 500,000 people per year coming in, not 40,000!

Big banks spark outrage over changes that could quietly drain Aussie wallets

This is a surely shameful, but I bet govt won't step in & put a stop to it either since they are hell bent on destroying anyone who isn't a big business cronies! They also have the hide to say they only doing it in response to a skill shortage, they must think we are stupid when they spew their...

'It costs me peanuts': How this 95-year-old outsmarted fuel bills

Legends, reminds me so much of my deceased dad (who made anything work) & my younger brother, who also runs his older model (80's) Lancruiser on fish & chip/vegie oil & is about to embark on another big outback trip he's been around Australia a couple times in the old Landcruiser on vegie oil...

NAB reveals new interest rates for account owners. This is what your savings might look like soon

Gotta start wondering what Centrelink deeming rates are on the interest earned now days? Also would start wondering how much tax the govt will take from these "interest bearing" accounts come end of financial year? Also starting to think I'd be withdrawing any savings & paying off a mortgage...

Family woken by rooftop break-in, raising fresh home security fears

Thieves will prob try even harder to penetrate this one, coz they'd suspect something very worth stealing in there! Need harsher laws to protect victims (as a deterrent in the first place) would make more sense!

Family woken by rooftop break-in, raising fresh home security fears

Desperate times, desperate measures! Thankfully good neighbour (& police) was on to it, but I bet the mongrel would've got a bigger fine for a civil or driving offence (or national park misdemeanour like gathering firewood to keep warm, etc) than for terrifying or even harming his victims...

Lost inheritance? Why millions in unclaimed estates end up with the government

Wills can be contested anyway, so once again the wrong ones get the handouts & free ride as is almost always the case :( If you work hard it seems you get all the grief, stress & poverty (& maybe health problems to boot, unless the karma bus swings by, which can be sweet to watch sometimes)!

Lost inheritance? Why millions in unclaimed estates end up with the government

Just another legal way govt rob us blind at every chance they get, why would estates be any different? (to all the taxes, levies, fees/service fees & charges/surcharges, bank account & mortgage fees/taxes stamp duties, admin charges, insurances (they get a cut from), gst, sales tax, land taxes...

ATO to tax side jobs this coming tax season. Here's what you should declare soon

Govt wont be happy until everyone except politicians & their big business wealthy cronies are homeless & have nothing left! They won't ever need 2nd jobs themselves & if they did the tax/ rules wouldn't apply to them anyway, they'd make sure of that!

NDIS pricing changes 'incredibly cruel' says remote mobile therapy provider

Well said! System is pathetic & heartless politicians making the funding cuts & ridiculously harsh rules should be forced to forfeit their huge salaries to help out! NDIS has been a joke & not improving at all

Can your payments disappear when you need them the most? One woman's experience may have the answer

It stinks when genuine recipients hit hard times thru no fault of their own & Clink kicks them in the guts to top it all off (victims so often seem to be soft targets to big business & govt departments these days) Yet they can turn a blind eye on immigrants receiving payments & all the...
