In dementia units, its not the caregivers who are abusing the old ladies - its the other old men, who are themselves patients!

How have we got off the problem of sexual abuse of the elderly and onto general criticism of the aged care sector? Does anyone have any ideas about what to do to prevent sexual abuse of old ladies? (daresay even old men??)

The caregivers are also stretched and cannot be everywhere at once. Its the owners of the aged care facilities that should be brought to task as they chase the dollar.

So talk to your local member, because it is the govt that allocates money. Aged Care Assessment does not have any money, they can only recommend what you should have.
