You could be making this mistake on the road—Why did a horse rider confront a driver?

There are people, and a world outside Australia. Most of our laws are based on British laws and that is not going to change. We are affected by happenings outside our borders, e.g. the US and China

Sounds like a self entitled driver. Horses are legally allowed on roads. What next? Ban pedestrians, what about bicycles?

Show Us the Receipts: Watchdog Puts Super Funds Under the Microscope

That was meant to be for Novezar and his/her claims. And I agree about the scaremongering. The way the fund in the article managed the upgrade was incompetent ( and I used to work in IT)!

If you are not a member of those types of funds, how do you know what they are like, what the returns are and how quickly they make funds available?

Show Us the Receipts: Watchdog Puts Super Funds Under the Microscope

I am with an industry fund and NOT a union member. I switched from a 'crooked' private fund which has a number of court cases and class actions pending. Also the at least half the directors of industry funds are from the business sector. Funny how the industry funds have lower fees, better...

Union membership cannot be compulsory, hence the advertisements to join a union

NO, that is nonsense and showing ignorance, Union membership is about 15%. I am in a industry fund and have NEVER been a union member, nor did I qualify as a member. People join because they are better

This forum does very good exaggerations out of nothing and other unsubstantiated claims. They rarely have original news, most of it has been reported previously.

Show Us the Receipts: Watchdog Puts Super Funds Under the Microscope

Not good, but clearly some money needs to be spent on communications, advertising and staff. Junkets should be off limits unless they benefit members e.g. exploring investment opportunities. Most of the funds named in the article are industry funds, and they usually have better returns and are...

Security guard chokes pensioner in hospital amid shocking safety claim

I have had trouble with security guards at hospital. I am hearing impaired. One tried to stop me entering for cancer treatment after I apparently walked down a path that was meant to be one way. Another occassion I was waiting for treatment and a different guard tried to throw me out for...

Too many people with back pain call ambulances or visit the ED. Here’s why that’s a problem

That is an oversimplification. It is one factor but not the only one. Think lack of tradies (TAFE closures anyone) market manipulation and tax breaks for investors (tax concessions which do not exist anywhere else in the world). The screams from the self entitled if tax is changed is...

Thank the government for the medicare rebate freeze and wages freeze for that.

Too many people with back pain call ambulances or visit the ED. Here’s why that’s a problem

It could also be due to an aging population. In addition with housing so expensive many people are postponing or choosing not to have children

Too many people with back pain call ambulances or visit the ED. Here’s why that’s a problem

Better triage? A relative presented to one hospital and was sent home. Taken to GP who said go to hospital. Went to a different hospital and was rushed in for emergency surgery. Proper resources and training are the answer. Same relative presented on an earlier occassion, was sent home as...

Drivers of SUVs and pick-ups should pay more to be on our roads. Here’s how to make the system fairer

You are a embittered idiot, and your comments are irrelevant to the topic. You have immediately made assumptions about my knowledge, qualifications and beliefs. I am more highly qualified than most and there is nothing wrong with believing one should help others. Also everyone should...

Being higher means. Limited vision for anyone in a sedan close by If a pedestrian struck injuries will be more serious. Newer RAV 4's are a larger and up to 1700kg in weight. Bull to you. I looked up isuzu and they can be up to 2390kg. Mazda cx9 2004kg. Toyota rav 4 premium 1700kg. Toyota Highlander 2029kg. A ford mustang is 1655 kg. Check your facts before commenting

Drivers of SUVs and pick-ups should pay more to be on our roads. Here’s how to make the system fairer

Registration is fixed regardless of kilometres. Fuel tax does not consider traffic, e.g. peak hour, smaller cars doing higher km or hybrids and EVs. Also diesels are meant to be more fuel efficient. So a bit dubious that we already pay for km travelled.

Since when is helping others a load of crap. When is expecting everyone to pay a fair share a load of crap including those who 'use' more and or can afford it? Some people have an oversized sense of entitlement and expect a free ride. I know who I think is full of crap. It is usually the noisy...
