FAST AND CHEAP: Will this retail addiction in Australia bite back hard soon?

It's rare that we can buy 100% Australian made clothes. I'm fortunate that I can buy Australian made 100% cotton wash bags. There's a factory nearby to me. They cost $20 and $25 depending on the size. They last for years. Not cheap though, compared to the chinese made polyester wash bags.

Very sad news. He will be missed by many people in Sydney.

'They are lying’: Single mum blindsided by massive $8,000 Centrelink debt

Yes. I didn't feel I was entitled to it anyway. My mother didn't need that kind of care at the time. I don't have kind words for Centrelink, due to dealing with them many years ago with regards to my son going through cancer treatment. But hey, that's another story.

    Chicken and Risoni Soup

I'm going to ask a few bigger butcher shops who I reckon will have them. However, I do have a halal butcher at the end of my street.

Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

Banks have sales to draw customers? Remember those days when we rocked up to the bank teller and that teller tried their hardest to sell us insurance, personal loans etc. etc. I certainly don't miss that sales pitch from them.

He knew he wasn’t ready to leave—now this 82-year-old’s death is a wake-up call for us all

Wonder how many days he was in the hospital, or perhaps in the emergency ward section. They would have given him strong antibiotics to take home. My son has had celllutitis a couple of times from the soil playing sport. Bacteria can transfer into the tissues. I took him straight to the Dr to...

    Chicken and Risoni Soup

Is that Leonard's chicken shop? They closed down years ago where I live. Might try a couple of butchers nearby.

Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

That's insane for an inner suburb. Your other option for no fees would be a supermarket or venture to the bank if you need a larger amount.

Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

Don't go to that particular ATM if they charge you that amount .. that's crazy. I rang my bank to find out which ATM's are suitable for no fee in my area.

I agree, as I thought that was the deal. Thanks for clarifying.

Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

I didn't realise the post office charges $6 for a withdrawal. Is that at all post offices, or due to different bank accounts? Last week I withdrew cash from Woolworths at their front cigarette counter. No charge.

Shocked by all the closures? Here's the truth behind Australia’s manufacturing collapse

I give credit to Hegs Pegs' owners to end manufacturing in China. They are now made in Australia for hanging our clothes on the line.

I'm not usually a fan of soup. However, this recipe looks nice. I like risoni pasta. Thanks.

You’ve queued at post offices for decades—now they’re finally listening to your feedback

My local post office down the road from me has had that layout for years. Probably because it's a business centre post office. The staff are very efficient and the queues move quickly. It's not at a shopping centre though.

    Facing Your Demons

Your story was admirably explained and written by the heart. Glad you gave up the alcohol for the sake of your liver. Plus, being open and honest with your past self, in order to move on healthily with your life. It's also awesome that you're now living in WA with your sweetheart.

You won’t believe how this Aussie mum made a delicious meal with just 4 ingredients—and one costs only $1.20!

Wow. Such a throw back from the 70's/80's. I think we've moved on from that 'leading-edge' era. I cook the small boneless lamb leg roast in the air fryer with vegies. Ditto with a beef roast. No added french onion soup needed ... thankfully!

The aisle’s empty and so are we: Loyal shoppers left reeling as ALDI and Coles quietly drop fan favourites

I never buy those coffee sachets. They contain lots of unnecessary ingredients in lieu of plain coffee.
