Tributes pour in for Man About the House star Brian Murphy (92)

I think it was in 1977 that Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy were invited to come to TV Week's Logie Awards as special guests. The invitations were quite large - about 30cms square - showing a painting of the many faces of Australian tv stars. At the top was a space for the name of the guest. As...

Allegations Against Alan Jones Just Took a Jaw-Dropping Turn – What You Need to Know!

My late husband was a barrister, and years ago had a case in the family court where a man - and his wife and three daughters - belonged to a well known religious group. But the man left the church, and as a result his marriage broke down. His wife was furious and, with the help of her fellow...

Allegations Against Alan Jones Just Took a Jaw-Dropping Turn – What You Need to Know!

Let's tell it like it is, Veggie! You're quite right and ANGRY doesn't even come close to describing how victims feel. And lets not forget that children generally do not report abuse - for all sorts of reasons that psychologists are only just starting to understand.

Allegations Against Alan Jones Just Took a Jaw-Dropping Turn – What You Need to Know!

Although with Sarah Monaghan, one of her fellow actors did voice his concern AT THE TIME, and made sure that she was not left alone with Hughes at any time during filming or rehearsals. It was known that Hughes was a menace, but management did nothing. That's why things take so long. My ex...

    AIBU 20.12.2024

Good grief! Talk about people creating their own misery. This young man needs to stand up for himself (quietly but firmly) and his Grandmother should back off. This is really a non-issue. There are many more important things in life to worry about. Grandmother means well but she lacks insight.

Aussies pay tribute to journalist Vaughan Hinton (91) and cartoonist Michael Leunig (79)

I was saddened to hear that The Age had sacked him because they thought one of his cartoons would offend the sensibilities of a small minority. My late husband used to meet Michael Leunig around Melbourne's bookshops. He loved our little Jack Russell, Rexy, who always accompanied my husband -...

Coca-Cola faces scrutiny after releasing its Christmas advert

Christmas has, in many ways, become an artificial, commercially driven construct anyway. So it seems quite appropriate for Artificial Intelligence to create these advertisements. I don't follow any religion. But it seems to me that since Christmas is a religious holiday meant to celebrate...
