Amazon Prime Video increases subscription fees by $2.99

That s weird! last time I wanted to cancel they contacted me with a better offer... will have to try again! The other thing is: I use Prime not only for streaming, but I quite often buy from Amazon (not only books, but camping, pet gear etc). As a 0rime member you get free delivery and often...

State government deploys new safety measures as road toll incidents rise

I think the NSW way of advising of speed cameras (mobile or fixed) defeats the purpose! as someone else pointed out: drivers see the sign, slow down, go past the camera and speed up again straight away! If they wouldnt know where they are they might generally be more careful and responsible...

King Charles’ portrait reigns over social media for a ‘creepy’ reason

Though I wouldnt put it up (I m not into, portraits) and I find the Red too dominant I think the actual portrait is very good! The artist seems to have captured the character, and the butterfly (Monarch butterfly?) seems to stand for royalty, but also for the Kings passion for nature. Organic...

Google reveals real-time alert tool filtering out possible phone scams

My relatively cheap Oppo mobile warns me when I get certain calls by showing a banner "This call was identified as a possible scam call". So I dont answer. If it s a real person they can always leave a voicemail and I will call back!

‘Cheapest fuel in a decade’: Find out where motorists are racing for 99-cent petrol sale!

What a generous person! I m living too far away, but there are many people who coukd do with this kind of help. I think the govment should hand out petrol vouchers to those on low income. I m currently on long service leave (being paid $244 a week), which is ridiculous. once I ll go back to work...

Queen Mary 'overwhelmed' as King Frederik's one-word bombshell dispels rumours

their private life shoukd be just that: private!! It nobody elses business but the couple (and their chikdren, close family to a degree). Something else: the Olympic Games seem to be a place for Scandinavian royals to find their future queen! Remember 1972, Olympic Games in Munich? Swedish King...

    Medicare Text Scam

I just got another one from Coles/flybuys as well as one from Telstra, srating that a number of my points are about to expire. I dont have ant Telstra accounts, so that was easy, but with flybuys I wasnt sure. so I checked their website and the points will NOT EXPIRE as long as you use your card...

Grieving mother slams Centrelink’s ‘unfair’ rule: ‘It's very wrong’

I unfortunately miscarried twice (no financial support whatsoever), later migrated with my only surviving child to Australia. I was a single mum all his life, so times were not easy, but I didnt expect anything and we made ends meet. Once he turned 16 he started working after school and...

ALDI retains Supermarket of the Year title for fourth year in a row

Funny you say that: I found Aldi s fruit and veggies fresher than those I get at Coles in the same shopping centre. But than again: not all Coles supermarkets are the same! One of the things I like about Aldi: the layout of the stores is almost identical, so no matter where i am I know where to...

This popular Kmart toy could endanger your grandkids’ eyesight—a mum’s shocking experience revealed!

It might sound harsh, but I would rather pay off debts and get an ambulance for my child if need be. I hate people "playing the poor card". I was a single mum in a foreign country, no family, and for years no friends. I often went without food so I could afford insurance for my son and myself...

Crucial aged care sector reforms face setback

I ve been working in Community Care for 20 years. I know my English is good, but I never lost my accent. Most people understand me easily, but I can see it s harder with a hearing problem/aid. Unfortunately as has been pointed out by others: native english speaking people dont want to work in...
