Do you think diet soft drinks are the 'healthier' choice? Think again!

It's hard to wean yourself off sugar, but worth it in the end. Using artificial sweeteners is just kidding yourself. They are a chemical, usually, and should be avoided. Worse that sugar itself, in my opinion.

The truth behind 'Ocean Plastic': Are brands really saving our seas?

As usual, dammed if you do and dammed if you dont. There is no pleasing everyone. At least trying to stop more going into the ocean should be acknowledged. And where does the plastic sourced from overseas originate. Is this perhaps from ocean clean up efforts.

Discover the amazing initiative bringing joy to seniors in aged care with unforgettable gifts and experiences

That's one way to look at it, Chris. But looking at the glass half full rather than half empty goes a long way to making you feel better. These gestures often make the majority of people feel that someone does care, even if they dont know them. I hope you can smile today Chris, even a little.

You won't believe what this Australia Post worker did: Queensland woman outraged by 'unacceptable' parking act

I am all about getting those using disabled parking spots getting their just dues, but I get very annoyed by spaces near shopping centres reserved for mothers with prams. These are not illegal for others to park in but why does a young (usually) person with a pram get priority. They are not...

What are your best AND worst purchases?

Worse purchase would have to be an entire set of Encyclopedia Britannica, just months before the introduction of these volumes on CD was a new thing. My kids never used them. They are in mint condition, except for the dust they are collecting. If only I could go back. Best purchase, my home...

A 70-year-old driver claims 'bad intentions' after receiving $603 parking fine

I'm not sure either of those photos relate to this incident. One is showing a disabled parking spot, not necessarily the white car being in the wrong, and the other the actual symbol to watch out for. Unfortunately kindness is not a legal excuse.

Hopefully they have a lot of security and checks in place. I am not convinced this will be safe.

Shopper's ‘devastating’ discovery in Woolworths meat tray prompts concerns about food industry transparency

Disappointing maybe, but hardly devastating. I cant see why this large chunk of fat wasnt noticeable through the original packaging. It was not a large tray. Take it back to the store and get a refund. End of story, move on. Mishaps happen, even to those with good intentions.

Australians lost more than $3bn to scammers in 2022. Here are 5 emerging scams to look out for

The authorities in some of these places where the scam originates are taking kickbacks. They dont want this lucrative industry to stop as they are doing quite well out of our naievity. We need the proper businesses and governments to do more. They can but they dont. Until then, these...

It great idea, but hopefully it doesnt result in an even smaller chocolate bar. They are definitley not worth the money at the moment.

Can vinegar help you live longer? Discover the surprising benefits

So did I Suzanne Rose and yes, it was part of a program that I was on and did have great effects on my weight. With the program as well though. I might start again myself. The initial gag was a beauty though. ;) ;) ;)

Beware: Study reveals ‘superbugs’ in supermarket meat!

More scaremongering. If we relied less on getting antibiotics when feeling slightly unwell, the resistance of these bugs to them would be less. And as stated if we handle the products correctly then the chances of this happening is reduced. We need bugs in our lives to build our immunity...

Molly Meldrum's latest incident leaves fans shocked and concerned – his family insists he has a ‘dedicated support system in place’

His current behaviour is what he will become known for. He has done so much for the Australian music industry and it would be so sad to see it all dissolve because he, or those around him, cant control his actions. There would be signs from him that those close to him should pick up on when he...

What lurks above Kmart's toy aisles? The 'hidden' discovery you need to see

Not ok. And riding the bikes and playing with the balls also. These stores are not a playground and should not be treated as such.

Do you do this too? An ALDI worker reveals the customer habit that leaves them shocked!

I dont like it. Checking grapes, perhaps. But I find giving kids yoghurts to eat annoying. It teaches the child that they are allowed to do this and if they cant wait till they get in the car, or home, then snacks should be brought from home to satisfy their desperate need for food. It is an...

Flight attendant faces outrageous treatment from 'drunk' sports fans mid-flight

I think there are some young women these days who would do the same thing. It is just about disrespecting someone, not really about their gender. Being drunk is not an excuse, but they were not physically abusive. It would be nice if these behaviours didnt happen, but the world is a long way...

Dingo mauls toddler in national park

Dingoes are wild animals. they are not domesticated dogs. A small child would see them as a dog so it is up to the parent to be aware. Kids get away from you quickly so it is hard at times to do that, but safety in remote areas should be the main thought. I dont see killing this animal as the...
