Well I have to agree with you on one point. Even my son-in-law refers to common sense as 'rare sense' as it is no longer common. People seem to be sponges, soaking up all the bullsh*t they're fed by social media. ( and of course Murdoch and cohorts).

As a (retired) shift worker, I never needed an alarm clock. I had 3 kids. As an oldie, I find that if I wake up during the night, even just to use the loo, going back to sleep stuffs up the rest of my day.

Bugger this. Not my cup of tea at all. With more time ( now in my dotage) I actually enjoy the challenges of scrolling the weekly specials and cutting the grocery bill. Some piece of plastic, programmed by a person or company, that I've never met, isn't getting that much insight into my life...

I'd probably sit by the nearest body of water, preferrably under a tree and finish my book. In the remaining time I would probably read another one, then just sit, quietly, soaking up nature, looking at the stars. Making peace with Mother Nature if at all possible.
