Queensland scientists racing against clock to tackle 'unprecedented' environmental threat of melioidosis

It's not only here that has those nasty bacterias. I recall my youngest son having to play sport once in Monterrey, Mexico. The team had a nasty bacterial skin infection from the water when showering & using the washing machine. Not only that, they were staying at a large 5 star hotel with...

Because every family has a story: Discover yours with MyHeritage DNA

My mother & a few other relatives of hers did a DNA many years ago from a kit from USA & sent back to check. It was hit & miss, so forget it. My mother's side has a few ancestors who arrived here. First one was born in Ireland in 1784 & arrived here being a convict for sheep stealing. Died in...

Traveller learns the reality about his quaint stopover: 'It's not something I would support'

I remember hearing about their religion on A Current Affair a couple of years ago. Scary cult stuff.

Make Your Kitchen Sink Sparkle With This Simple Trick Using Items You Already Own!

Looked like she was getting ready to cook. Neatly cut that lemon in half, then a delicate sprinkle of salt. No thanks. Jif cream cleanser or gumption does the job.

‘We’ve been blown away’: The supermarket moment that had Aussies lining up

This will give Patak's a run for their money. It's very popular for Indian food/recipes because it's authenic.

Woman doused friend in fuel, set him alight for misogynistic comment, court hears

What I read, she was so high with cocaine, and he was so high with alcohol. The Crown Prosecutor at the court case, said Walpole had plenty of time to calm down. "You could have walked away from this, couldn't you, but you didn't," he said. The man's words were certainly not called for, but...

Is it dangerous to kiss someone who’s eaten gluten if you have coeliac disease?

Fortunately, celiac disease doesn't mean a hospital emergency with a flare up, in which they get temporarily sick. My SIL is one, & it's all about reading labels. Eating gluten free foods repair their bowels too. She sometimes needs a iron infusion due to the immune function.

Tensions hit a boiling point as Prince Harry drops a bombshell about his father’s health

Harry more than anyone knows the royal standard/protocol that needs to be upheld. Waste of all those court costs imo. He & Meghan don't carry out any royal duties in the UK, so they don't qualify for security protection. Even Princess Anne & Prince Edward only receive security protection with...

'I’m not going to serve you here': Here’s why Aussies are divided over this restaurant drama

She went to an upmarket area with that restaurant & it's not somewhere I would eat with a small child. In the area, there are other casual places that would have suited better.

'Honestly very gross': Homeowner spots intruder in her home multiple times!

We had someone walk into our front yard & steal flowered plants from some large pots & a small ornamental cactus. We reckon it was about 4:30am. The security lights would have gone off. People told us they repot plants & sell them to landscapers, who don't know any different. We now lock...

Is it unreasonable to eat nuts... next to a person with a nut allergy?

That must have changed, as I'm sure there's no ban on any foods in schools these days. However, the school/teachers are trained in anaphylaxis management. In answer to your question, adults with a nut allergy cope well in work and social aspects. They are educated.

Are You Unknowingly Exposing Your Family to Deadly Pathogens in This Common Home Appliance?

I always wash towels with 60 degrees temperature. Natural sun kills any nasty things too. My washing machine gives a reminder every 100 washes to clean the drum (empty) with vinegar. The cycle is set for 90 degrees to kill.

Is it unreasonable to eat nuts... next to a person with a nut allergy?

Yes, lightening can do that with trees. Sad though & lots of work to clean it up & removing it.
