Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

No problem there. I have a local bank specialist hub for any needs I require. I was disappointed with another local bank with their internal ATM's. I was waiting in line where several asian customers withdrew all the cash from the machines, so no go for me. Obviously, their Armaguard would...

Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

Did they sort it out for you? The last time I went, I needed to take a filled out form to drop off. I was promptly told I could have scanned it and emailed it. No! My friend used to work for a well known bank. She answered customer calls - who were scammed. It was too head banging for...

Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

I'm well aware of some elderly people who withdraw cash every week, so they can physically see how much to balance for the week. There's nothing wrong with that. I've worked with computers since the early 80's with work, so I have experience with online accounts etc. It's just a different...

Nine valuable guitars stolen from music legend Joe Camilleri's Kyneton home

I don't think so. He came home after going away for 3 days and the door was open. Typical of loser thiefs.

Nine valuable guitars stolen from music legend Joe Camilleri's Kyneton home

That's shocking. I read that his Switchmaster would be literally unsalable in Australia. Very rare high end Gibson guitar. Even in the US that's a super rare instrument. So, it suggests that they didn't know what they were doing. I bet he gets its back.

Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

Do you remember the days when we went to the bank teller and got a sales pitch with upselling? I used to dislike that. I live in a city. My local banks have one teller, or if lucky two who deal with businesses and a roving staff member who fields queries. The rest is taken up with teller...

Bendigo Bank to close 10 branches, leaving some regional towns without financial services

Fair enough. Just trying to think the last time I ventured into my local bank branch was probably 2 yrs ago. I do online or phone.

As long as there is a local post office, people can bank there.

We’re tossing billions of these tiny plastics each year—so why are they still stuck to our fruit?

Love Launceston. Do they still have the family of monkeys in the park?

We’re tossing billions of these tiny plastics each year—so why are they still stuck to our fruit?

In saying that, I reckon it may not be robust enough. Customers might switch stickers like they do with organic eggs.

It's sticky paper rolls and stickers. Spotlight sells it in the craft section.

Yes, they are there for the supermarket scanners, plus the orchards I suspect. However, if Washi products can make paper stickers/rolls, then I can't see why they can't. Probably too expensive to change their machines.
