Is Your Grocery Bill Making Big Companies Rich While You Struggle? See What Oxfam Australia Exposed!

Hubby and I love a little chocolate after lunch and a Drumstick after tea. I have one of the bite size Snickers every day and hubby likes Kit Kats and the mini Mars Bars. What amuses us is the way Coles and Woolies go week about with specials. This week for instance, Woolies has Drumsticks and...

Trump vs Prince William: Who’s Really Taller? Shocking Visuals from Paris Challenge Trump's Claim!

Sorry, is ABC viewing a sign of intellect? The ABC has been banned in our house for at least 10 years, since we, former ABC devotees, realised that we were no longer getting both sides of the political world. My tablet will write the following after I type in the first three words, because I've...

'I simply clicked the link': Man shares how one email put his Centrelink payments at risk

I know exactly what you wrote. I make sure I read articles and comments properly before I comment. Detailing personal experience which is different from mine, and then casting doubt on what I wrote, is saying you don't believe me. If you don't believe what someone's saying, you think they're...

Please point out my deficiencies. I'll be fascinated to see what you consider them to be.

'I simply clicked the link': Man shares how one email put his Centrelink payments at risk

I'm privately insured. When consulting a surgeon privately, most will charge out of pocket for the consultation and the surgery in a private hospital. Did you not read the bit where I said I worked as a specialist medical secretary? I did that job for 19 years, so I'm very aware of how the...

'I simply clicked the link': Man shares how one email put his Centrelink payments at risk

What a judgemental, nasty person you are. And just to let you know, mortified means embarrassed or ashamed. I don't think that's the message you were attempting to convey. However, you can now be genuinely mortified because you used the wrong word in an attempt to be nasty to someone who's...

'I simply clicked the link': Man shares how one email put his Centrelink payments at risk

Having worked in the medical field for 42 years as a nurse and specialist medical secretary, I know what you mean. It amazes me that people think doctors should happily accept what the patient believes is fair. The orthopaedic surgeon who operated on my shoulder wouldn't take a penny from me...

Venues across Australia spark debate by opting out of Australia Day celebrations

I think if you look below the surface, you'll find more than meets the eye. Last year, when Woolies removed all their Australia Day merchandise, it wasn't their decision. I've known this for some time, but was reminded of it again when I saw a Facebook comment yesterday saying look to Bill...

Discover Prince Philip's Heartbreaking Sacrifice for Queen Elizabeth That No One Knew – Until Now!

Okay, we get it! You hated Prince Phillip. What's the point of dragging up a whole lot of salacious gossip years after his death? Most people are aware of this anyway. The article was about the love he had for the Queen. I prefer to concentrate on the positives in life, so I didn't bother...

The Shocking Truth About the American Health System that Has Australians Gasping in Disbelief!

Having health insurance doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be asked to pay outrageous fees for specialist services in a private hospital. My husband and I have been in HCF since 1976 and I've had to have five spinal fusions since 1992. Surgeons have retired and we've moved towns in that...

Broadcaster Alan Jones taken into custody after several allegations

To those hoping fellow prisoners will make him suffer if he's convicted and gaoled, I believe there's as much chance of his being put with the general prison population as there is of hell freezing over.

Protect your computers and phones: these six words could make you a hacker's next victim

To be fair, how many people are likely to ask that question? I'm online a lot and I've never seen anything like it. Apart from that, I didn't even know Bengal cats existed.

Heartless Bikers Devastate a Sydney Charity Shop - Could Your Local Store Be Next?

That's a particular model of motorbike, probably an old BSA or Norton. If you look at modern bikes, the fronts don't have this configuration. The Brains Trust (Hubby) assures me that no modern bikes are like your picture.

Heartless Bikers Devastate a Sydney Charity Shop - Could Your Local Store Be Next?

If you have a look at the front of a motorbike, you can see how there's no room for one. If a numberplate were positioned further back on the mudguard, the angle would make it difficult to read because it would be pointing upwards instead of forward. I definitely see your point, though.

Heartless Bikers Devastate a Sydney Charity Shop - Could Your Local Store Be Next?

Actually, back in the day, motorbikes had a front plate. I vaguely remember when it was decided that they should be removed. I just consulted with the brains trust (Hubby) and he said it was for safety reasons. Apparently, if the bike rider hit a pedestrian, the plate caused severe injuries...
