What voluntary assisted dying options are available for those with dementia?

I certainly don't want to be sitting around with dementia not knowing anyone or having any quality of life. It's harder on the family as well just watching you exist rather than live in my opinion. It seems clear there are not many options and sometimes you can be hit with the disease quickly...

You won’t believe what’s growing in homes after the floods

Absolutely, my heart goes out to everyone affected. I can't begin to imagine the heartache, stress and worry let alone the hard work and slog ahead. And the hoops to jump through to get help.. and back on their feet before what, it happens again!

Is it unreasonable to refuse to run errands for an elderly neighbour?

I wonder why she hasn't asked the neighbours who are now frosty or maybe she did and they said no and suggested you and it looked like it worked for a while. But that is using you and fair enough when you work full time and have a family. I remember what that's like, life is really busy.

Fans shocked after sudden announcement from Billy Joel—what we know so far

I love his songs and have taped one of his concerts at Madison Square Garden and it is great to replay. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Daughter laments over mum's 'devastating' condition after working in this facility

But that is where the system is wrong, you should not need a lawyer and have to fight so hard for what you are entitled to in the first place. And you hear in some cases the victims get very little in comparison to the lawyers bill.

Daughter laments over mum's 'devastating' condition after working in this facility

Can you imagine any of our politicians going to work in those conditions? Nobody should have to and then to have to fight so hard for fairness, again it just makes your blood boil. The added stress only adds to the physical illness. Whwt sort of country are we that allows this type of thing to...

I will look at woolworths next time just to see what their bakery items say. Interesting.

‘There could be $1.50 a kilo difference’: This Aussie staple is cheaper for Kiwis than their own

That's absolutely ridiculous and shows how exporting to other countries and charging the country of origin a higher price is so wrong. Look after your own first. Being a kiwi I buy the NZ butter because I have always preferred the flavour and don't eat a lot of it but my goodness it does make...

‘I’ll do anything for my children’: What one Aussie mother says she has to do just to feed her kids

That's a dreadful state to be in. I can't even begin to imagine life must be like. I was a single mum of two myself and had to watch every cent spent but tne cost of living then wasn't like it is now. I managed but never wasted anything. No coffee out, takeaway ever. Everything cooked at home...

‘A substantial markup’: Why a top online store is facing court over customer charges

There are many absolute scumbag companies out there trying to fleece whoever they can to improve their profits. It is criminal and certainly hope they get a hefty fine as well as have to pay restitution to those affected.

New rules may impact home options in this state. Is this the solution to the housing crisis?

It's no wonder people end up homeless when councils have no compassion and refuse sensible options for people. It is so wrong in the economics of today's world.

Research reveals baby boomers, retirees invest in cryptocurrency

The ones who got in early with a small amount and cashed out when it was a decent amount were lucky. Most keep wanting more then lose it all. There is no safety net with this and I would not be prepared to lose hwrd earned money like that. Slowly surely in managed funds for me.

'Maybe you shouldn't get married': His parent discovered something, now his wedding is in jeopardy

Yes I agree, the wedding should at least be postponed. They clearly have trust issues and have not been together very long so it would be wise to wait at least a further 12 months if not longer. They definitely need to grow up, marriage is a serious step.

Take this 60-second writing challenge—it could reveal early signs of this disease

Alot of people don't want to admit they might be getting dementia and prefer to bury their heads in the sand rather than do something about it and at least slow it down. I hope I have enough common sense if I look like I am getting it to seek help.

‘Game-changer’: The Kmart item turning offices into cosy havens

Fingerless gIoves would keep your hands warm and no electricity required. Surely the offices are heated or is this just needed for first thing. I hate the cold but never needed this when I worked. Perhaps wear more layers.
