‘$3.10 isn't even a litre of milk’: Centrelink recipients slam latest payment increase

The Age Pension used to be a third of an average man's wage - then some smart a#$e decided to adapt it to inflation, which I recall meant it was cents per fortnight two years in a row, a move I believe was started by Howard, who then used what had not been spent on welfare as bribes of a one off...

Aussies boost retirement funds with $470,500 pension trick

Very true, I have had the same amount of UK pension since I had to claim it here, it would have risen if I could have left it for a few years but that's not allowed here, if you are eligible you must make the claim when you reach pension age here. I know of two women who reached UK pension age...

James Bond star's interview resurfaces for shocking reasons! What did he say?

Can't see the point of bringing it up again now when the man is dead. I think he may have lost work after that interview. If it was someone doing it now I could understand letting it be known.

Aussies boost retirement funds with $470,500 pension trick

It definitely is deducted from the Aus pension. When I became eligible for the pension I was told to contact UK to see how much pension I would get from there. What we get from UK pension never changes except for the exchange rate here, so mine varies from when it started as Aud$400 per month...

‘What world are we actually living in?’: Broadcasters slammed after tragic cricket match death

It's not just the heat, the high humidity we get can sweat all the fluids from your body even when you're just doing your every day actions. If we have to go out on a 34° or higher day with high 80% or higher humidity you can come home with clothes soaked in sweat because humidity like that...

    General Discussion Thread 18.03.2025

Although the two I most loved , my mother's mother and my father's father, would be wonderful to speak with them again, right now it would be so special to have my little dog back, she died just before Christmas and is missed so very much - she was my little buddy who made me laugh even though...

Check if you're qualified for this 'critical' cash boost from Centrelink!

Sorry for laughing but your "nude nut Dutton" is pure gold, and after this supposed increase we needed a laugh. In our block the rent has gone up by $18 per week, so this HUGE amount of $2.30 a week does nothing.

When I had the cortisone injection for my shoulder pain I was told not to do any lifting, no vacuuming, no back and forth movement with that shoulder for ten days. Also to expect some pain until things sorted themselves out--torn ligament/swollen and inflamed bursa. From that injection all pain...
