    I got my licence in a manual car and have driven predominantly manual vehicles although my last car was auto. Back in a manual now & loving it. I am definitely less concerned about this car being stolen.

    That was definitely my experience. I applied online & the message only.tje site was that I was not eligible & to wait until It is definitely tricky. The alternative is to physically go to Centrelink for help. You may need to make an appointment. The staff in the office in my area are wonderful...

    I initially checked through Retirement Essentials who advised that I could apply 13 weeks prior. They are charging around $670 to apply on your behalf.

    It certainly is a minefield. I applied for the age pension 6 weeks prior to my 67th birthday & was not permitted to apply until my birthday. It then takes up to 4 weeks to process so I am still waiting. I do have the low income health care card which gives concessions on medication and utilities...
