Beware! How a seemingly innocent text cost this HSBC bank customer $50,000

Six months ago I had a lady from the term deposit section of my bank ring. She wanted to discuss the deposit. I said to her "I do not know if you are who you say you are so I am going to hang up and I will ring the bank myself and get through to the term deposit section". She was very...

Beware! How a seemingly innocent text cost this HSBC bank customer $50,000

Cheque books are on way out! I do internet banking on my computer and that is fine and I use Paypal for my online purchases. Never had a problem. I do not intend having any financial apps on my phone.

Beware! How a seemingly innocent text cost this HSBC bank customer $50,000

Every time I do a transaction or pay a bill online my bank sends me a text message as well as an email to let me know the payment has gone through and if it was not me doing the payment to get in touch. I have no complaint with my bank. They also sent out an email telling me what to look out...

Unlock massive savings with BIG W’s Boxing Day sale now!

A week ago I saw Boxing Day sale signs in a kitchen store and a bedding store. Could not believe it. We have not had Christmas Day yet and they are selling all this already. I am so over all this commercialism. Thankfully we are at that stage in life where we do not buy presents for each...

Sadly because of so many scams being perpetrated I would be on my guard if it was me!

This woman's one text mistake cost her $40,000 in minutes

So despite being aware of scams she obviously handed over the information asked for and only afterwards did she ring the bank. I honestly have no sympathy any more. The banks say time and time again they do not ask for your pin number etc. When are people going to use the commonsense they...

‘It doesn’t make sense’ Shocking update on a Cadbury price mystery sparks outrage!

I only buy by UNIT pricing these days and I refuse to pay for over priced chocolate. If enough boycotted it they would have to drop their prices.

No I have not but I am wondering if anyone else is feeling overloaded with all these things we keep getting from Flybuys, Woolworths etc on a daily basis. I know I am.

I have found the product at Aldi always seems and looks fresher than Coles and Woolworths.

Discover the $29 kitchen gadget from BIG W that shoppers can't stop raving about!

It is about thirty dollars cheaper than others I have seen online. It does not take long for knock offs to arrive. No doubt Kmart will have as well soon. I can see it would be good if you were travelling as lots of places have a microwave and you could make one of these up pretty quick.

Quite honestly why even put this up. We all have access to the news online. Nothing to say really as it has not come before the court, the woman has not been named, end of story.
