Zero alcohol doesn’t mean zero risk – how marketing and blurred lines can be drinking triggers

Some writers will invent anything for a story! I have adapted to non-alcoholic beer and find no detrimental effects, nor have I seen any evidence that its presence encourages youngsters to consume the real thing. Imaginative nonsense....

Kmart stuns customers with $5 erotic-looking item

For heaven's sake, it looks nothing like a sex toy!

Tesla driver's ‘failed’ cable cover-up sparks outrage online

As I've been saying since this EV obsession began, plug-in systems are an obtrusive hopeless, expensive, concept. If we must have EVs, let them be only hybrids with on-board ICE engine chargers.

Why do I bruise so easily? Could it be something serious?

So, if I'm permanently on prednisolone, coupled with gingko biloba and Vitamin E (250mg) and a family history of purpura, I could be in trouble.

The move to a cashless society isn’t just a possibility, it’s well underway

Heaven help charities, small club raffles and other small payments which require cash! Nobody seems to give them a thought.

Centrelink users express outrage over long wait times: ‘You're on your own pretty much’

Not only Centrelink, but banks and other large organisations perform (or don't) similarly. I waited 45 minutes on the phone to a bank the other day, and gave up! Three minutes was the expected wait time when I was working. Current standards are disgraceful.

Shoppers bid goodbye to supermarket frustrations with checkout update

This is a time-saver? I don't think so. Can't we stick to traditional mathods we understand?

Does eating this fruit lower your dementia risk?

I'm a blueberry and raspberry lover, have them on my daily breakfast cereal. I find strawberries too bitter, although my wife prefers them.

Controversial driving move by ute driver divides opinion

In SA it is permitted to cross double lines to overtake a cyclist, provided it is safe to do do. The ute driver is completely in the wrong, exhibiting the impatience which causes so many collisions.

The items Aussies are removing from their grocery lists just to save

This has been escalating steadily, despite supermarket fibs of "down, down". Butter and cheese are among the worst examples. What really gets my goat is price one week doubles the next and drops back again the following week, e.g. Jordans granola can be $4.25, shoot up to $12, next it can be $8...

Aussie driver slapped with $116 parking fine, gets mixed reactions online

I would contest that the yellow line is too pale to be enforceable and that it applies to the bitumen roadway only. I notice that many motorists park over yellow lined areas outside our local K-mart car park, but none are ever penalised.

Discover how Aussies are being taken advantage of on their electricity bills!

It's all too ridiculously complicated. I recently switched but am not convinced I'm any better off and even having Government concessions transferred is uncertain. All utilities should be controlled by the Government, as they used to be, with no private suppliers allowed into the marketplace...

'Prison-like' security gates at Coles trigger outrage from shoppers

Even access to the one-and-only quick service checkout at our local Coles has been blocked by a rope barrier so that customers are compelled to walk through the self-serve area to reach it.

Woolies delivery driver gets fined for not reverse parking: ‘Take it to court!’

There are occasions where reverse angle parking can aid unloading but front to kerb is preferable in most situations. In the UK reverse angle parking was, and I believe still is, illegal. When standard road rules were introduced in Australia in 1999 it was intended that reverse angle parking was...
