Woolworths, Coles, IGA or Aldi? Find out which supermarket was crowned 'Supermarket of the Year'

I am not a fan of Aldi stores. My tastebuds must differ from those of the general population as I don't like most of the food products I have purchased from them. Although their products are cheaper I can never do a full shop there, I have to still top up at Coles or Woolies, as Aldi's range...

ABC's 'You Can't Ask That' producer reveals the most UNCOMFORTABLE question he ever had to ask their guests: "It felt insensitive"

Unless people tell us how they feel we would never know. Perhaps the question could be phrased differently "towards the end" rather than 'when you are a vegetable'.

Is it ever okay to name your child after a friend’s stillborn baby?

This is a very delicate situation. I think if they ask the other parents they will say yes even if it hurts them. My friend and I each had a baby boy one week apart. Sadly, her baby was stillborn. Unfortunately that was the end of our friendship. She could not bear to be around our son. I...

Cafe owner gets fined after selling “overpriced” decaf coffee to customer, believes the penalty is “outdated”

The customer should be punished for wasting police and court time.

Tough Woolies security guard nicknamed ‘Kevinator’ curses at shoplifters and forces them to go back inside and pay up

Kevinator is a lot gentler than an older member of my family who says police should be followed by a firing squad. He says if they are sure the person committed the crime, the firing squad would save a lot of time and resources by getting rid of the offender! (Though I think he would exclude...

The secret to making barista-grade coffee at home — Hint: It’s not as difficult as you think!

Actually, its the other way around. Time was that we could only get coffee beans, had to grind them to make coffee. Then 'instant' coffee was advertised, brainwashing people. Instant is O.K. when you're in a hurry or do not have the means of making a proper cup, but you cannot compare the flavour.

Little-known detail at supermarket sales tag REVEALED by former staffer: "Great info!"

I usually buy 3 tins of my husband's favourite coffee and the last of the coffee usually coincides with the next time its on special. But it tricked me this time. Ran out of coffee and none on special!

Rising costs of living push many pensioners into poverty: "I'm not sure I will survive"

Possibly because they have a lot of medical appointments. Just listen to a group of pensioners talking - its all about their medical conditions. My husband and I are relatively well for our age but we have countless medical appointments.

The TRUTH behind why Aussies may opt for fast-food restaurants over a grocery run

Looking through supermarket catalogues shows that most specials are not for "healthy" foods - they seem to be on snacks, chips, biscuits, sausage rolls, pies etc. These are the things people like to eat and they are encouraged to buy more and more of them.

The TRUTH behind why Aussies may opt for fast-food restaurants over a grocery run

Yes, but you'd have to add a lot to it, lettuce isn't very filling

The Queen’s declining health could see Prince Charles taking over

I agree. I know a few people who limit their lives by refusing to be seen in a wheelchair. The Queen could set a trend. Many people still achieve great things though confined to a wheelchair.

Woolies employees reveal ONE of their pet peeves – customers requesting "no substitutions" in their orders

I tried an online order with Woolworths once - they substituted two small packets of ordinary bacon with two 500 gr packs of low fat anemic looking bacon that tasted disgusting. It all went into the bin. It didn't occur to me to complain. Just didn't go back for more.

Fitness coach shares tip on how to order a healthier version of McDonald’s Bacon and Egg McMuffin — "I'm going to let you in on a Macca's order hack!”

Just have the bacon and the extra egg. Much healthier to throw the muffin out. And much healthier again - eat breakfast at home!

Fitness coach shares tip on how to order a healthier version of McDonald’s Bacon and Egg McMuffin — "I'm going to let you in on a Macca's order hack!”

I was 'forced' into Maccas once. I was on the outskirts of the city and got the shakes from low blood sugar. (That can happen suddenly) Macca's was the only 'food' store around and I had to have something. I think it was the worst toasted cheese sandwich I've ever had. Two sheets of cardboard...

Aussie mum slams Aldi after slipping over littered grapes, resulting in SERIOUS injuries – “This is NOT okay.”

This is typical Aldi. When I had an issue with one of their products causing damage their response was to offer me $2 to replace the item. At the time they were running an ad about how helpful they are! It takes a lot of effort to contact them and they show no empathy. Best wishes to Jenny...
