I got a text message from my super fund, asking me to update something. I deleted it thinking it was a scam. Later I found out it was genuine. I asked them to only contact me by email as everyone thinks texts are dodgy.

Aussie fights for life with meningococcal disease. What signs should seniors watch out for?

Always good to have flu antivirals, which work amazingly well. I've taken Tamiflu twice when I was bedridden with flu and I was better the next day and able to work. Can be given in first 48 hours even without PCR results. Ask your GP next time you get flu symptoms that aren't Covid.

There are vaccines for this disease, which are not funded for older children and adults. Parents should ask their GP about getting these for their kids, the cost will be worth it..

Aussie government to fully launch the SMS ID Registry soon

I don't answer any calls unless I identify the number. If it's important people can leave a message. We got rid of our landline as we got too many nuisance calls on it.

Deadly discovery in your backyard—here's what you need to know to stay safe!

No one has died from a funnel web bite in Australia since the anti-venom was introduced, in the 1980s I believe. I live in a bushland area where they're supposed to be and have only seen one in the last 40 or so years. It was in my daughter in law's study. I have a handy spider chart on my...

Avoiding sun exposure is the most important thing to prevent wrinkles. I am 72 and have had cancer and am now on dialysis but I look a lot younger. With renal failure the skin often turns yellow but mine hasn't thank goodness. I've always worn a big hat in the sun and don't expose myself to too...

Are you at risk? Aussies reveal osteoporosis drug Prolia's side effects you're not being told about!

Aclasta infusions are probably the best drug for osteoporosis, but can give you flu like symptoms. Done once a year for five years. Some people get no side effects. The problem with not treating it is there is a high mortality rate in the first six months after a major fracture eg the hip. I...
