Live like the Queen: Queen Elizabeth’s 10 Secrets to a Long Life

Personally, I’m very happy she’s still around. She’s had a wonderful life, somewhat darkened by sadness and the indiscretions of other members of the Royal Family. Even through all of that, I’m sure sometimes we either forget or are not aware of the much happier times in her life. She’s not only...

Trouble sleeping? This sleep expert's 3-step wind-down routine might help!

A helpful article. I find that often my head is full of ‘stuff’ and I have trouble ‘switching off’. I notice that if I can condition myself to focusing on a ‘blank’ wall (no pictures, windows, doors, room fittings, etc) and try not to allow all the other things going on in my life to intrude...

    Camping joke

Next time! (as if there would be a next time!) Dad would most likely stipulate: … ‘but not IN the tents!’ That’s with the benefit of that perfect 20/20 hindsight. Don’t we wish we all had that! 🤪

No, no, Kermie’s girlfriend is Miss Piggy. Everyone knows that! 🤣🤣🤣

UK expat receives backlash from Aussies after sharing two ‘inaccurate’ culture shocks – what do YOU think?

Hmm. Firstly, I’m not aware that Mr Whippy is still around these days. If not, perhaps it was a member of a younger generation who did not experience the expectant joys of hearing the familiar Mr Whippy tannoy sounding out from nearby streets, announcing the imminent arrival of the...

US woman who was having a rough day only wanted nuggets, but her Maccas order left her in tears

Personally, while certainly empathising with is unfortunate woman, I’m not really sure why anyone would settle for chicken McNuggets! Very often they contain very tough and chewy ingredients, not nice, tasty, soft morsels you could be forgiven for expecting, leaving you wondering ‘where is the...

NSW police officer intentionally hiding on busy road fines speeding drivers — sneaky or justified?

Lots of thoughts come to mind on this one. To some extent I agree with previous comments here. To sum up, my thoughts are: 1. The motor cycle cop is not justified in himself breaking the law by parking on the nature strip/footpath. He should be setting a good (law-abiding) example. Do we...

Dressed up for Lone Pine Adventure

Although I don’t exactly remember the trip (from our home in Sth Strathfield, Sydney) to the Koala Sanctuary in Queensland, I fondly remember the photo taken of me holding a koala (I would only have been around 6 or 7 at the time) and also in the same trip visiting the (Golden Circle?) pineapple...

Woolworths truck driver’s ‘amateur’ behaviour caught on camera - do you think he was in the wrong?

To my way of thinking, having watched and re-watched that clip, the semi driver had his indicators on to change lanes BEFORE the motorist drew alongside, so the truckie is in the right and not breaking any road rules. The motorist, on the other hand, appears to be impatient. He clearly moves up...

Aussies are saving money on petrol with this 'Happy Hour' deal

For those of us who do live in Sydney, it is much appreciated to be made aware, or reminded at least, that there are great fuel deals available here. There’s nothing stopping you from researching attractive prices in your area! Incidentally, we in Australia still spell words the English way, as...

New data reveals Australians lost $295.2 million to scammers in the first half of 2022

Yes, true. At least the numbers I block are that many less that can try again.

Me too Wendy. That way they can never contact me with that number again!

Mum's damaged toilet leaves hundreds baffled – what do you think happened?

To be honest, I do remember the old ditty from my (long past) school days: “Mummy’s in the kitchen, cooking fish and chips; Daddy’s in the toilet, bombing battleships.” Mind you, that was long before we had a NUCLEAR arsenal at our disposal! 🤣

Punishment: gone too far, or fair enough? Internet is divided on whether it is ever okay to make your child eat from dirty dishes

I say, “Good on you!” I might be old-school, but the age of responsibility is fast disappearing in a world of disrespect and self-centredness. The advent of selfies is proof of that, the ‘look at me’, and ‘look what I’m doing now’ attitude. Thinking of others is becoming scarce, unfortunately. I...

One Australian state’s major ingredient shift to Bunnings’ sausage sizzle sparked a fiery debate among users – which side are YOU on?

I agree, for the same reason that I prefer a ‘thin and crispy base’ pizza rather than a ‘pan fried’ version. Way too much bread (in bread rolls) and too much pastry (in pan pizzas) for my liking OR my good health!

    Calling the police

Food for thought! I wonder if this idea would work here? Our emergency services are often ‘tied up’ or otherwise distracted by such ‘emergencies’ as a toothache, etc!

    Joke The Dead Chook

You know what they say: a laugh a day … mmm, you’re thinking: keeps the doctor away’? True, but it certainly puts (or keeps) you in a good mood for the day, right? Keep smiling! 😁😁😁
