Your Say Sunday Poll: Do you think it's okay to smack children/grandchildren?

In fact, the problem I acknowledge is that there is no DETERRENT! Even if the death penalty is mot imposed, it remains as a deterrent, the eventual punishment for committing serious crime. As is currently, there is no DETERRENT, and majistrates have their hands tied.

Your Say Sunday Poll: Do you think it's okay to smack children/grandchildren?

What an interesting and polarising subject. I’ve often thought that the abolishing of the death penalty for serious crime to be a HUGE mistake, because a suitable deterrent has been removed from the judicial system. Therefore there is not the same fear of consequence for BAD behaviour...

The eco-friendly modification that cost this driver $1000: Read before you risk it!

Oh come on! Do we have nothing better to do than to criticise SDC for their newsletter content??? Try to be positive, and applaud their UNPAID efforts to keep us informed and entertained. Well done SDC; keep up the good work. Ignore the whingers! Have a great day. 😊💕

Tooth-cracking object found in grocery staple leaves customer in horror - you won't believe the 'INSULTING' compensation they received!

Certainly a $10 ‘compensation’ is an insult, and laughable! In days gone by, a genuine food complaint was taken seriously. These were back in the days when customer service was the main focus, as well as the popular saying: the customer is always right. As has been pointed out, there are some...

    Joke Paddy

This joke did not present fully here. Is it possible to post the full article again please? I’m sure it’s probably a good ‘un, but I’d like to read it all. 😂

    Remember Free Milk at School?

Yes, I too vividly remember the consumption of milk at primary school. I hated the taste (and still do, unless it’s flavoured, even with tasty cereal!) but we at home discovered strawberry flavours ‘lollies’ (sweets) that improved the flavour out of sight! We should have been more grateful for...

Social media divided over 'concerning' aisle act at Woolies

Yes, they definitely have the right to raise concerns about this kind of activity. Whether or not the product is plastic-wrapped, it’s the look, the appearance of fresh food lined up along the floor. Personally, I would not purchase any fresh products from any store where I witnessed this...

Is this boy the reincarnation of a dead woman? The internet is freaking out!

@Groovy, @Rainy, and @Suzanne rose: thank you for your commitment to the Holy Scriptures, and for your testimony regarding matters of the faith. I commend you for it, especially in the light of what the great apostle Paul refers to as ‘the last days’ in which we find ourselves. I applaud you...

Mum's decision to give nine-year-old daughter a nose piercing sparks outrage—Is she too young?

Yes, I agree. We can be so judgmental and narrow in our outlook and responses, that we are too slow and reluctant to stop and think before we reply. I have to say, that if something is personal and private, please leave it that way. You should not feel compelled to give that up to defend...

Is privacy dead in the digital age? 'Consensual doxxing' and the consequences of sharing personal details online

Exactly! And that’s MY point! We never used to have to be concerned about those things, because our information WAS private.

American tourist can't believe what she discovered about Aussie shopping trolleys

Yep, in Australia you need a licence to drive a buggy, er, I mean shopping trolley! 🤣 Where I come from, a ‘buggy’ is your means of transport on a golf course! 😂

Mum's decision to give nine-year-old daughter a nose piercing sparks outrage—Is she too young?

I’m from an era where even tattoos are rare, and only ever on men. The most piercing a WOMAN (never ever a child!) was, in the western world, to get her ear lobes pierced - never anywhere else on the body. Personally I do not find it attractive. To make decisions about body modification in any...

This British expat was SHOCKED by these 5 things she experienced in Australia

I was going to suggest to her that her problem is she lives in Melbourne! 🤣 She should live in Sydney, but I see she’s already tried that! 😂 Actually though, it’s the same the world over. We all have our idiosyncrasies that tell us apart, and make us unique in a way. In general she must like...

Is privacy dead in the digital age? 'Consensual doxxing' and the consequences of sharing personal details online

I have to admit, the modern technological advances are scary! Especially if you’re ‘old school’ - yes, I admit it! 😁 Honestly, sometimes I look back at the ‘good old days’ and wish for their return. Whatever happened to simple communication means, like picking up the receiver on the home...
