Major shake-up at Bunnings as senior management roles are axed. What does this mean for customers?

I have only good things to say about the people at Bunnings, they are always a big help when I (reguarly) get lost in the wrong aisles. Thing is though it's a bit difficult to find a staff member who's not already besieged by others like me. About the changes, I never like to see Staff...

Big Banks Still Committed to Cash: CBA, ANZ, and NAB Swear They Are Not 'Going Cashless'

My Westpac Bank closed a couple of years ago. Now the Post Office is closing as well. No way now for me to get withdrawls from the Post Office in my shopping centre. If I want to go to either I have to get a bus up to Chermside. It stinks. I wouldn't believe a damn thing the banks say.

Talking about eating less red and processed meat provokes strong feelings. That’s why this new evidence-based report is welcome

Red meat once was a normal part of people's main meal, maybe if we went back to the old way of farming then we wouldn't have as many issues with it. I'm in my late 70's and have that and chicken and lamb still. Also like ham or salami for sandwiches. So far I'm okay. Just my outlook anyway.

Small business owner calls out government official on-air: ‘Step up and do something’

I think if something's actually substantial in a change in the Law then she is going to be voted out next election.

British Airways flight serves passengers KFC—what happened?

Finger lickin' good. Yum. They did what they could in the circumstances. I'd prefer Kentucky to some of the Airline food.

    Trouble

The one I did like but was usually beaten at was 'Fiddle Sticks' - I think called 'Pick-up Sticks' now. Just one move could bring all the sticks tumbline and you were out.

Driver slammed online for hogging four spots, including disabled bay, in Bunnings carpark

I have seen this a few times in my shopping centre in Brisbane. It's handy for them they think to park this way, but no thought for other people. Pity there isn't a security guard to watch these actions.

The struggle of a 55-year-old desperate to be a granny – and how it's affecting her children in their 20s!

These days young adults live very different lives than we did. They have the freedom to enjoy their lives before committing to having a family. I remember the expectations when I was young that you would 'get married and have kids' and many followed this not really wanting to, with some bad...

    Electrolux Man

My lovely Mum didn't like Salesmen at all, but the one she always welcomed was the Electrolux man. They were always I remember very good Salesmen, and would also suggest solutions if she had any issues with the Electrolux we had. She swore by them.

New testimonies reveal Centrelink staff's frustrations over ignored concerns on 'dodgy' Robodebt system

All that happened to me with Centrelink saying I owed them $9,000 after I shifted to a Unit was extremely stressful. I couldn't prove then whether or not I owed them this money, so just paid it, and over nearly 3 years later I am now granted a full pension. During that time they put up my...

Find out from the pros: How often should you wash your jeans to preserve their colour and maximise lifespan?

Yes I find if I wear my jeans too often before washing them they get a bit baggy at the knees, even if they are stretchy ones.

    Soda Water Scones

I might even try these scones. The ones I made in the past were, to put it mildly, solid.

End of an era: Don Dorrigo Gazette, Australia's last letterpress newspaper, halts operations after more than a century

I feel sad for these people who've kept their Newspaper alive for so long. My Father was a 'Master Printer' way back, and when he retired installed a printing press under our house, where he would print beautiful Cards etc. (some I think for the Masons of which he was Past Master.) I was so...
