Unfortunately, many scams are based overseas and the Australian Government has no jurisdiction whatsoever. Despite all the warnings given today by authorities re scams, if people still wish to communicate with individuals on the internet they don’t know, it is a risk they choose to take.

There are plenty of reasons why people get caught up with scams. Perhaps they are developing early dementia and their families are not yet aware, they may not have any family. They may press the wrong button on the computer. They may be very lonely and just grateful someone has phoned them and...

It’s worth it for my family. We constantly used it as the kids were growing up emergency surgery, physio, glasses, the list goes on. The most important thing for me is being able to choose your doctor. As we age, we still use it often enough. Again, it is a choice, even though it is expensive...

This is good advice, but nothing new. Scammers are the reason I don’t answer mobile numbers I don’t recognise. If it is important , the caller will always leave a message and then I will decide whether I call them back.

I have always used tradesmen recommended by friends. As far as builders, one phone call to the Master builders association, will sort out registration of a builder. We have never had an issue.
