I think in practice this would be nie on impossible to achieve. As a starter, the issues for many in business suddenly seeing a 3 day wait imposed on funds being received may well prove to be disastrous. Many small businesses could suffer as would the families involved.
I agree with the...
That's a very good way to respond.
Years ago I had time to mess with a scammers head so I let him get so far in the conversation by being encouraging. Then I would push back a bit and so on. When he eventually worked out I was playing him, he lost it. Carried on like a pork chop. Swearing...
I agree with fomo being a real possibility when choosing to not answer some calls, so an awareness of anything new and if it's a number that is not redflagged by phone, then it can be fortuitous to answer. Like my NBN free update call (that I answered) with ftth for example. So there are no...
20 years ago, there were legitimate businesses using phone software called predictive dialler. Spammers maybe using something similar that dials the next number after 3 rings go unanswered. That way they get through a lot of the numbers in their database, even though missing some potential victims.
That's a very good recovery from that situation. Well done and lucky you were close to your bank.
When mitigating risk, the highest choice is to choose elimination. I too block any number that my phone doesn't recognise. I figure if someone wants me bad enough, they will leave a message.
My...
Spot on. Our Apex predator the dingo does indeed protect our little guys. The dingo fence is a prime example of poor decision-making. The land on the Western side of that longest fence in the world is home to heaps more small native animals and vegetation that stays greener longer after rain...
Thank you for the kind gesture.
The Jarrah is a relatively new addition for me. I have always been an extra strong black tea drinker. No sugar, no milk. 3 weeks ago I bought some Twinnings vanilla chai and that goes down really well and tastes strong enough for me if I put a small plate on the...
Jarrah. French Vanilla Latte. 3 or 4 heaped teaspoons. Doesn't matter what time of the night it is, I never get to finish it. Always sends me to sleep in the lay back chair.
Pretty sure that only applies to cash. The Cash transactions Act applies to any cash transaction to any account, including one's own $10k or greater.
But hey you could be right.
It is well said.
Knowing someone, close to me, who in the past year or so has become a Carer I feel the same way. As he does. Yes, registration should have been in place at the outset.
Nah, not according to what was said to the Senate hearing in Adelaide by Westpac today. Seems Westpac are looking to have some amendments made to the Privacy Act so their efforts to protect customers moneys in circumstances where a POA is in place and financial abuse then happens. If the money...
For some who think banks do not have responsibilities in this regard, here is a bit from a Senate hearing in Adelaide. It's Westpac telling of the efforts it's putting into cross-banking contacting and how it's common practice amongst banks in the fight to protect customers scammed out of...
So, seems like a bit more to it, that remains unsaid, but this from a Senate hearing held in Adelaide where Westpac make an admission about Tennant Creek closure......
Senator O'Neill also asked Ms Pogoniski about the sanction Westpac was given by the banking watchdog over its decision to close...
