Big pay rise for over 5 million Aussies: What you need to know

It is ridiculous that an increae of "up to $41.50" is considered "generous" when rent increases alone have been significantly higher than that. That does not even consider the other increases in the cost of living. It just reinforces once again how out of touch the government is. Howevere they...

Struggling to make ends meet? Upcoming Centrelink boost still not enough for Aussies

It shows how out of touch the politicians on both sides are. They will all say this is a generous increase while ignoring that costs are actually going up much higher than the official inflation rate. Meanwhile politicians retire on pensions far beyond what most working people willever see.

New Centrelink bonus scheme to boost wallets by $4,000

So the only "bonus" pensioners are getting is from going back to work? Rather discrimanatory against those who can no longer work or do not want to return to the workforce. It also ignores age discrimination against older workers. The government is only doing this so they avoid the issue of...

Pensioners to get cash boost in upcoming July indexation

A major increase? Like the recent "big" increase in rent assistance which in reality was less that $20 per fortnight? Prrhaps some time on the aged pension would give them a better perspective on how inadequate it is.

Welfare boost on the horizon: Treasurer hints at significant increase ahead of federal budget

So those on the Aged Pension get nothing while those on Job Seeker get an increase. Supposedly to bring it to 90% of the Aged Pension. Completely ignores that the Aged Pension hasn't kept up with cost of living pressures. So in reality job seekers won't really be better off.

Public sentiment boils over as Woolworths denies cash-out request

Just because economic times are tough should not be used as an excuse to allow people to steal from stores. She was in the wrong and committed a crime. People will say they should have called the police. By the time they arrived she would have been gone.
