Fair enough, @BruceC. That said, the advice still stands---scams are known to use fake websites as part of their tactics and spotting a dodgy link is something I believe can help.

I've had to mute more than one group chat because the constant alerts and buzzes can be overwhelming, especially on busy days. For all the benefits of staying connected, there sure are quite vexing downsides...
