Is the 'broken' Australian grocery system costing you money?

The sad thing is people believe Coles and Woolworths and other stores don't charge you to use your credit card. They do. The only difference is Aldi is transparent and charges you a tiny 0.5% onto your total whereas the others add fees (which could be a lot more) into their actual prices. I...

Is the 'broken' Australian grocery system costing you money?

I totally agree with you. The quality of products from Aldi is on par, and often superior, to what you buy in other stores. Sometimes I think because people don't recognise the brand they get all snobbish and think it won't be as good.

Shoppers lose their minds about $3 Christmas-shaped potatoes: ‘I need to try these’

Exactly! You'll have to post when you have tried them and let us know what you thought of them.

Shoppers lose their minds about $3 Christmas-shaped potatoes: ‘I need to try these’

LOL you might be in trouble then because I thought they were delicious and it would have been easy to eat them all at once!

Shoppers lose their minds about $3 Christmas-shaped potatoes: ‘I need to try these’

I have tasted them and they are really yummy! Nicer than a lot of other potato products that are available.

Aussie farmer calls out Coles and Woolworths: ‘Farmers are just trying to pay their bills’

The Woolworths from South Africa and the Woolworths we have are NOT the same company at all. Our Woolworths supermarkets were started in Australia and ARE Australian-owned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolworths_Supermarkets

Outrage ensues as Coles quietly cancels popular service in some local stores!

Let this self-entitled whinger boycott Coles then. No supermarket is obliged to give you free fruit and she should in fact be grateful that it was formerly happening.

Booker Prize-winning author Dame Antonia Byatt (87) and radio star Nan Witcomb (95) pass away

Exactly. I have all of the volumes of Thoughts of Nanushka, and for 16 years had an amazing cat in my life whom I named Nanushka in honour of Nan Witcomb. I have always loved her work and am saddened by her passing.

Shoppers up in arms over a change to a Woolworths Christmas classic

I agree for the most part with that! However, I do love to communicate with people and sometimes I think the fact we don't do that enough is the reason there is so much angst and lack of compassion. One of the problems today is people don't listen to understand, they listen to answer ... they...

Shoppers up in arms over a change to a Woolworths Christmas classic

What a vile comment! Because YOU do not know the meaning of the word is no reason to be so nasty to those of us who do.

Shoppers up in arms over a change to a Woolworths Christmas classic

It is NOT my interpretation at all ... it is the TRUE meaning of the word. The meaning before all the nasty people decided to change it to suit their agenda of not caring about the people around them.

Shoppers up in arms over a change to a Woolworths Christmas classic

I have put a graphic on this thread that explains it. People keep using it as an insult, which it is not ... it merely means being aware of social injustice and being empathetic and compassionate to the plight of others. Sadly some have decided to use it as a derogatory term and have turned it...

Shoppers up in arms over a change to a Woolworths Christmas classic

Maybe look up what the word "woke" means ... like so many others you have misused it. It doesn't mean what you have implied. I am proudly "woke" (by the correct definition) as I believe in staying well-informed on societal issues and I have a desire for people to be treated fairly and kindly...

ALDI’s unexpected risque headline shocks shoppers: ‘Oh, ALDI!’

Totally agree. There were "only fans" on that page of the catalogue so it was natural to state that. Some people just look to be offended or look for hidden meanings in everything.

Sudden price hike on bottled water leads to surprising discovery: ‘I'm being penalised if I recycle at home?’

Wow, you REALLY are out of touch! Do you have ANY idea how people are out there without friends and family to help them? No wonder there are so many lonely people out there when people keep their heads in the sand. Yes, people do have the water home-delivered because they cannot get to shops...

Outrage ensues as Woolworths makes a shocking change to their bag policy

You say "surely someone can do the shopping for you" ... no, for some of us that is simply not an option. We don't all have family or even family that live in the same state and can help out. Thank heavens for online deliveries as that is the only way some of us can get our basics.

The Woolies bags are also stronger I have found, so that is one good thing!

Don't miss out! A new free streaming service is coming to Australia and New Zealand!

What is free is the streaming service ... you don't have to pay to subscribe to the service.

Don't miss out! A new free streaming service is coming to Australia and New Zealand!

It doesn't say ad-free ... it says "free, ad-based" which means the service is free but there are ads. That is how they can offer it free I guess.

‘Your dollar doesn’t go very far anymore’: Australia's pensioners in danger due to rental crisis

No he is cleaning up the enormous mess that was left by all those years of LNP neglect ... and to believe otherwise is just unmitigated rubbish.
