Insurance company report reveals hotspots for car crashes nationwide

One of my friends moved from WA to Launceston a few years ago & was astounded at the behaviour of motorists here, lack of signals, not obeying road signs & almost invisible street signage in the city. I explained to her that obviously using indicators flattens your car battery and obeying...

Stop making toasties the wrong way! Experts finally reveal the right method – are you guilty of these mistakes?

Totally agree CliffE. Would be so much easier with knobs on. Though knob less is easier to clean. 😇

Stop making toasties the wrong way! Experts finally reveal the right method – are you guilty of these mistakes?

You are spot on Ian, only we prefer wholemeal bread & I do use baking paper to save any mess. I butter the outside but husband insists on buttering the inside.

Stop making toasties the wrong way! Experts finally reveal the right method – are you guilty of these mistakes?

Don’t people ever read the instructions when purchasing a new appliance? If they did then they’d already know the answer. I dislike reading manuals but if I didn’t I’d still be wondering how to turn on my new knobless cooktop.

Doctors issue warning as warm, hay fever season approaches

No Jimmys is long gone and is now Coles. Jimmy sold up when he became our mayor in the late 1980’s.

Parking penalties turn a new leaf: No more sneaky fines, just honest stickers!

Tassie is beautiful & very different from the west & of course it’s cold today and raining. Our winter has been brutal, very cold up north. But we’re travelling west for Christmas with our son & staying for 6 weeks. My husband will hate the heat but I’ve told him I endure the cold so he can...

Doctors issue warning as warm, hay fever season approaches

I’m allergic to daffodils & most other strong scented plants. I have heaps of daffodils in the garden but I can’t ever bring them inside. We also have a lot of roses which I adore & love the perfume, so I’ll pick them, enjoy having them inside for a day then off they go to my neighbour. I used...

Parking penalties turn a new leaf: No more sneaky fines, just honest stickers!

Must tell my son WA means We’re Ahead but don’t think he’ll agree. He moved to Perth over 20 years ago & thought it was a bit backward, especially trading hours. It took him a few years to adjust but he regards himself as a West Australian now. We have a lot of former WA residents living in...

'Something is going very wrong': Stories from one Aussie hospital tell grim reality healthcare systems face

I’m surprised you didn’t pass out from hunger. I certainly would have. My brother did complain about how thirsty he was & hungry & he only had to put up with it for one day.

'Something is going very wrong': Stories from one Aussie hospital tell grim reality healthcare systems face

My husband had chest pain a few years ago & I took him to Launcestons general hospital with a note from an emergency GP & he was attended to immediately. Maybe it helped that the Dr. was from the A&E & was working for Home Doctors in his down time.

'Something is going very wrong': Stories from one Aussie hospital tell grim reality healthcare systems face

My brother had a detached retina but he was in Hobarts Royal Hospital & was operated on within hours. He also went without food & water for some hours but it’s normal procedure for anyone having an op. even though you are still awake while it is happening. I hope that you have recovered from...

Massive bin overhaul hits thousands of Aussies, residents voice concerns

Would take me about 2 years to fill the glass one, but would love a purple bin, because I like purple things. ☹️

Massive bin overhaul hits thousands of Aussies, residents voice concerns

I love my FOGO bin but unfortunately down here in Launceston it’s only collected fortnightly. I’d love it to be every week. Our garbage bin goes out with very little actual rubbish in it & is collected weekly. Our council has a bit of catching up to do. Not everywhere in Tassie has FOGO BINS.

Shoppers scramble to snatch up this $16 Kmart steal—perfect $99 lookalike!

I disliked these in the 80’s and dislike them even more now. My late mum in law had a fancy, pink ceramic vase which I thought was ghastly so decided to off load it. My young neighbour saw it & absolutely loved it. It now has a prominent spot in her lounge. How people’s taste varies.

Entire city is under quarantine over billion-dollar threat

My son lives in Perths zone A & he’s hoping the annoying gum tree on the nature strip outside his house catches the bugs. It’s a constant battle keeping up with leaf removal.

Own piece of royalty: King launches limited edition item as tribute to Queen Elizabeth's style

Oh dear Veggiepatch! Some people have to wear hats for sun protection, especially those who have constant skin cancer problems. My husband has had several skin grafts on his face & needs to protect newly positioned skin. He wears a hat all year. If hat wearing had been enforced when he was tiny...
