We Studied The Tree Rings Of The Batavia Shipwreck Timbers – They Told Us Much About Global Seafaring History

There are brutes in all cultures. History does not have to repeat itself.

Golden Sips: Is this $32 Coffee with 23-Karat Gold Worth the Price?

Have we no shame? Drinking gold on a very expensive coffee doesnt make you a legend. It makes you gullible and a little ridiculous, in my opinion.

What Risks Could Pet Hamsters And Gerbils Pose In Australia?

Another trendy influencer idea that could have consequences. We have enough cute animals already in Australia that having to have an imported designer one shouldnt be allowed. Really people, think before you act.

Learning grammar is just as important as it always was but the way we teach it has changed

And also these days the use of the 'I' and 'me". It more often than not is used incorrectly. Once upon a time it was the other way around. So irritating. But I think we are fighting a losing battle to get the younger generation to understand grammar. I know someone who consistenly writes 'use'...

Crikey! The Evolution of the Aussie Accent: Are We Becoming More Americanised?

I certainly hope that the Australian accent is not lost. It is such a unique way of speaking. There is one thing that drives me nuts though, and this is not accent related but pronunciation.. why is known, grown, blown, often pronounced knowen, growen, blowen etc. It makes me shudder when I...

Why are shoppers so invested in this in-store cafe video?

I think there are enough cafes around these big stores and in shopping centres, that another inside Kmart seems pointless to me. With the eating habits of this generation, Kmart would not only have to return moved items to their correct place, but also clear up the mess made by having food in...

What’s the ‘weight set point’, and why does it make it so hard to keep weight off?

My weight has always been an issue for me. I could lose weight when I was younger but after turning 60 (and the years that have followed), I have struggled and when my son took a photo of me with my youngest grandson, I knew I had to do something. I thought I had a healthy diet, but obviously...

The NDIS promises lifelong support – but what about end-of-life support for people with disability?

My 18 year old grandson has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is a terminal condition and his mother has often had to fight to get the things he needs to make his quality of life acceptable. Having a child with a diasability, the system shouldnt make their life harder. He can be stable for a...

Thinking Of Buying An Electric Vehicle For Your Next Car? Here’s The Market Outlook And What To Consider

Look at the reviews for MG SUV RIcci. My son had one as a hire car and said it was the worst car he had ever drive, and he's driven a lot. Hard to see the speedo, clunky in cruise control and dash not easy to use. Just do some research. :)

At chocolate time, we’ve discovered what the brands that score best on child labour and the environment have in common

As Cheezil said, we only know what we are told. But I'm sure these companies are scrutinised and need to be reasonably compliant. But that is any interesting read and surprising with some of the brands.

Think I see them on the third box, on the bottom of the list. But could be the wrong one.

Why are they 'working' on it? If they know this is happening, do something NOW. It is getting ridiculous and there are still lots of people getting scammed.

Devastated Fans Demand Return of Discontinued Budget-Friendly Staple from Coles

Not as cheap as the powdered product, but the frozen mash potato is pretty close to fresh. I add extra butter and a little milk. Very convenient when cooking just for myself.

Debate surrounds Aussie driver's mobile phone fine - can he appeal?

And is that a pillow next to him? I am not sure what purpose that has. If I need to adjust or check my google maps, I pull over and do it while I am stopped. Only takes a few minutes. I would never do it in freeway traffic, but you shouldn't need to ckeck where you are on the freeway.

Target recalls popular sleepwear due to alarming fire safety concerns

With the strict regulations around these products, how does this happen? I'm also wondering why someone would let their child so close to open fire that they may catch fire. Just wondering.

Restricting Calories Leads To Weight Loss, Not Necessarily The Window Of Time You Eat Them In

Exactly. It doesnt work for me but I do eat to a schedule, mostly. Intermittent fasting just lets you focus on what you are eating not necessarily when.
