Incredible innovation or scary science? First-ever lab-grown, 3D-printed SALMON hits supermarkets!

If it was something other than "fish" I might try it, but that would be dependent on the price.

Caught in the act: Supermarket worker shares heart-wrenching stories of desperate shoplifters

There has been talk recently that councils should consider planting fruit trees in place of the type of trees currently planted. This would enable people to obtain free fruit.

Why did Natalie Barr abruptly leave the Sunrise set? The emotional family news behind the scene

Is the last school assembly in lieu of the graduation ceremony? I never attended any school assemblies, something I consider totally irrelevant - I had enough of the crap from countless talk-fests at work. I did, however, attend the graduation ceremonies, all of which took place at around...

Outrageously inappropriate or unfair judgment? Woman 'shamed' for her outfit on flight

Amazing how things have changed over the years. This took me back to when I boarded my first flight ever in May 1969 to travel from Vienna, Austria, to Sydney Australia as a brand-new immigrant. Back then you dressed up, rather than down, when flying. I was 22 years old then and I wore a Coco...

Unlock the secrets to preserving your food with these canning essentials

Gosh, I used to do a lot of this when we had friends in Leeton whose relatives owned an orchard supplying peaches and other fruit to the then Letona cannery. Because only perfect fruit could be supplied to the cannery, they allowed us to get less than perfect fruit for nothing. We had a station...

Turn your average supermarket cake into a showstopper with this simple trick!

Many, many years ago - back in the groovy 60s, I was in London as an au-pair - studying English was the excuse, having a ball away from strict parents was the real reason. One of the boys of the family I was with, celebrated his 13th birthday and was a huge Dr Who fan. So I used a couple of...

Why did Natalie Barr abruptly leave the Sunrise set? The emotional family news behind the scene

I am very proud of him, although I have to admit that I did have sleepless nights when he was in his teens. But a couple of years later, he did a bridging course at university and started his degree course. He got his first (graduate?) job while he was still in his second year of his degree course.

Could a scorching summer lead to gas shortages and power outages? ACCC issues a dire warning

Nah, it isn't! I just paid more than $1,000 for my gas bill and all I use that crap for is ducted heating and hot water. I still hate the builder who argued with me that since I was building in Canberra, I "had" to install ducted gas heating! I wanted reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning and...

Have you tried McDonald’s latest creation? Brand new chicken burger finally comes to Australia!

Sure: Pumpkin bread 3 1/2 cups of plain flour 2 teaspoons of baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 cup sugar (recipe calls for 3 cups) - even 1 cup may still be too sweet 1 cup pecans (could be replaced with walnuts) 4 eggs 1 1/2 cups of canned pumpkin (this...

Why did Natalie Barr abruptly leave the Sunrise set? The emotional family news behind the scene

I had that not once, but twice. For 17 years, number three child was the youngest in the family. When she was in year 12, I got her a baby brother. Seventeen years later, when my youngest was in year 12, he decided that school did absolutely nothing for him and after battling with some very...

Could a scorching summer lead to gas shortages and power outages? ACCC issues a dire warning

Well, it's definitely time to kiss my ducted gas heating good bye and replace it with a reverse cycle split system air conditioner in the family room.

Award-Winning Australian Tour Operator announces massive sale! Here's how to snag your dream holiday for less

I really need to start planning a European holiday, considering that my partner and I were all booked and ready to go when the pandemic started. I won't booking any tours however, I enjoy my freedom and independence far too much to be coralled in a bus with a bunch of people. My beautiful...

Have you tried McDonald’s latest creation? Brand new chicken burger finally comes to Australia!

Nothing wrong with using potatoes, except that those rolls contain an awful lot of sugar. If I was to make rolls using potatoes, there would be only enough sugar to activate the yeast. This reminds me of an American recipe for pumpkin bread. The first time I made it, I reduced the sugar to...

With the exception of potatoes - which I buy at Costco, I buy all of my fruit and veggies at Aldi and have always been happy with the quality and freshness of the products.
