Shocking news! Victorian Premier cancels 2026 Commonwealth Games

Good on him for that. Unfortunately you are "the devil if you do, or the devil if you don't". If Vic hosted the Com Games people would slam him for wasting money and not spending on homelessness, education, housing etc., etc. If Vic didn't host the Com Games he would be (is) slammed for not...

OFFS! Its NOT all about YOU! These guys (in the dairy aisle) were probably having a bit of fun making noises and because YOU are sensitive that you are wearing a mask, ASSUMED that it was directed at you. This is such a problem now days - its all me, me, me.

The truth about the financial struggles of a pensioner

Unfortunately we don't even have one Aldi in our state. We are at the mercy of Coles and Woolworths, so we have to be extra careful.

The truth about the financial struggles of a pensioner

I just have to say how refreshing it is to see someone use "my friends and I" instead of "me and my friends" Well done with your money saving tactics too.

Could Buy Now Pay Later repayments be forcing countless Australians to miss meals?

Me too with the credit cards - although I HAD to pay interest once when Easter got in the way of my regular payment and it wasn't processed in time. I still beat myself up over this and it was YEARS ago!!! Unless its a car or a house I was taught not to go into debt too. I've survived.

Do you still remember the first thing you bought with your own money?

My very first purchase was a sombrero hat that I had been coveting in a main street store window . It cost 1 pound - I earnt 4 pounds something. It was fabulous to have this amazing shade covering, I was so proud of my practical purchase, (I lived in the tropics) but at the slightest puff of...

Do you still remember the first thing you bought with your own money?

I also purchased a guitar on "hire purchase", very early in my working life. It was such a buzz and I only had to pay $?? per week! I felt like I was never "owning" this guitar and I worked out my payments - it cost me 4 TIMES what it would've if I had've paid cash. I never "booked" anything...

Airline seat policy sparks controversy: Are plus-size travellers facing discrimination?

No. I am a plus size person - not quite needing two seats size - but the seats are a size and if YOU need two seats YOU pay. The airlines don't give slim people more baggage allowance.

Woolworths abandons plans to produce all paper bags in Australia

Me too. I have never - not one single time - bought a bag from the supermarket. I made my own singlet bags from nylon and I have a selection of the "green" bags that I've been given as "sample" bags etc. Its not rocket science to know you are going grocery shopping and take your bags with you...

Woolworths abandons plans to produce all paper bags in Australia

Absolutely - all of those boxes could be used. Bunnings has a stack of them. I often get a box because I need a box for some reason.

Worth it or a waste of money? Investigating the value of Woolworths Everyday Extra

I have been a member for a few months now and I've well and truly got my subscription cost back plus some. We don't have a Big W anywhere near us and I won't shop on-line so I don't take advantage of that. I have still to see much value with the extra perks being only for a product around $3 and...

Shoppers taking matters into their own hands: Is it okay to steal from supermarkets amid the cost-of-living crisis?

its never ok to steal no matter who has the money or not. I would love to not be on a pension and afford to shop at IGA full time, but I can't.
