Dementia prevention: Simple ways to turn everyday activities into a workout

Over the past 2-3 years I have read a few articles on the benefits of exercise. Also eating balanced diet incorporating various food groups is very beneficial. Even if it improves my chances of reducing the risk of dementia by 10% I would do it. But as we know there are lots of other benefits...

UK expat receives backlash from Aussies after sharing two ‘inaccurate’ culture shocks – what do YOU think?

I think this person makes up things or is on drugs (the happy kind). :):):)

Authorities investigate a ‘disgusting’ social media stunt by influencers targeting Aboriginal communities

I don't quite get the concept of influencers. Surely I can make a decision for myself. I don't follow any movie critics, food bloggers (influencers) etc. Nobody knows my likes and dislikes better than me. OK perhaps my wife knows them quite well too. So why do I need to listen to influencers? I...

Aussies are saving money on petrol with this 'Happy Hour' deal

My view is that a few dollars saved here or there adds up to a more significant amount. I would be happy to save even if it is at night time. Pity it is only available in Sydney as I don't live there. I my city some small independents and Costco are cheaper than big petrol companies.

Woolworths gives away FREE fruit to children, but some shoppers are taking advantage

Is this the way our society going now? Take whatever you can. A 'me-only' culture! A pity because Australia has such a good society with lots of positives but these constant examples of selfishness disappoint me and are taking us downhill. These people need to have a look at themselves in the...

Is this viral airport travel hack too risky or genius?

I do not understand why people carry massive amounts of luggage when travelling overseas. My wife and I take approximately 14kgs of checked in luggage between us. We also have about 2-3kgs of cabin luggage which includes 1 change of undergarments and t-shirts. Last time we went overseas to...

British expat questions Aussies' love for beetroot: "Why is it in everything?"

I like the can variety. A friend introduced it to me about 40 years ago. I loved it. I don't like the fresh variety as much. And it is not in everything as per the assertion from the lady. It is definitely in burgers.

Mum's X-rated dinosaur cake fail goes viral - and the internet can't get enough

Remember to show the photo at your kids 18th birthday. They will have a chuckle although I am unsure if it really looks like a penis.

Watch out! 8 predatory techniques that salespeople use to manipulate you

I feel that as soon as you show any liking for an item, whatever it is, the sales people sense that and play on that. I almost always tend to keep a disappointed look on my face when dealing with these people. I tend to point out flaws in the item and that is not what I want etc. That throws...

'Rude' aeroplane act sparks heated discussion on social media – what do you think?

I would have politely asked the person to move the cover as it was covering the TV screen. I would have said it with a smile. Most people would have understood and moved the cover. Situation resolved. If not, I would have asked cabin staff to resolve the issue. Most situations can be dealt with...

British passenger's airport line-cutting 'hack' has people fuming: "This isn't funny at all"

It is a pity morons like this inconvenience everyone else but it is OK for them. Me only culture. These are the parasites of the society. They are abusing a great facility put in place to assist disabled, elderly and injured. I have extreme dislike of imbeciles like this person.
