Australia's grocery stores are running low on chicken and other essential products - but should we panic?

I went shopping today and there wasn't a lot of pasta, but plenty of everything else. I didn't check the supermarket but the butcher and chicken shop both had heaps of chicken.

Are you breaking the law? Here are some lesser-known Australian road rules to keep in mind

The parking brake rule reminds me of an incident when I was in my early 20s and drove my cousin to a craft market in St Kilda in my EH Holden. I parked the car went to pull the hand brake on (it was located under the dash) and the whole thing just pulled right out from it's socket! Thankfully I...

How one traveller's dream trip to Bali became a nightmare

I have enough gut problems dealing with severe food intolerances, there is no way I would visit these countries. I just know it would be a nightmare for me!

Insider tips for cleaning mirrors like a pro!

I use a natural glass cleaner, as regular types cause dermatitis on my hands. I also use paper towels, as I find the window cloths all leave a strange sparkly residue on the mirrors, kind of like very fine glitter. I would prefer to use a cloth, but the paper towel works better. I use Handee...

What are those ‘vacuum sucky things’ in Woolworths stores?

My Mum used to work with these in a general store in a Victorian country town in the late 1940s. Mum used to work upstairs sending down people's change and also their banking. I remember seeing them in a few department stores, particularly going with my Nan to her health insurance (might have...

‘You’re provoking me’ – Australian cleaning habit baffles French expat

I have seen quite a few people wash their dishes without rinsing and always thought it was strange. I always rinse my dishes and dry them straight away. I've always thought the soapy residue would leave marks on the dishes and could make your food and drink taste soapy!

Who needs expensive saucepans? Kmart's budget option reigns supreme!

My saucepans are similar to this. Wiltshire from Big W and Smith & Noble from Harris Scarfe; very reasonably priced, easy to use and wash and last well. Most importantly they are not too heavy, all the expensive ones I looked at I could hardly lift!

Disabled woman delivers a powerful message to driver illegally parked in disability spot

Me too, although I didn't quite qualify for the DPP, so I only got a permit that allows me double the time in a normal spot. Not much help as I really need it for the shopping centre, so I don't have to walk too far. I now have to go shopping very early, so I know I can get a car park close to...

Afraid of flying? This pilot has five tips for you!

I get hugely anxious when flying, so much so that I feel quite sick and I forget to breathe!
