Reclusive actor Gene Hackman, 93, spotted after retiring from acting almost 20 years ago

I remember him in "The Firm", he played a corrupt but likeable lawyer. Glad he is doing well at 93.

Frustrated with folding fitted sheets? Try this game-changing trick!

Like many others, I can't get down on the floor. I wonder if this would work if you put the sheet on a bed to fold it?

    Joke Psychiatrist & Proctologist

This reminds me of the very funny list list of alternative meanings published annually in the New York Times. One of the items was: Pokemon: a Rastafarian proctologist!

Breaking News: TGA orders recall of 44 brands of potentially dangerous cough medicine from pharmacies nationwide

I had a cold a month ago and used cough medicine containing Pholcodine to control the cough while trying to get to sleep. I used Bisolvon, then Durotuss, both containing Pholcodine, yet neither are listed in the recall?

Brighten up your home without windows - here's the trick!

I'm not keen on the yellow, but can't stand everything white! Give me a house with some colour and character!

Attention, cat parents! What are some of your best tips for raising cats?

Your kitties are gorgeous! We have two cats, Cosmo (15 year old Norwegian Forest Cat) and Castiel (9 year old Maine Coon). I have had cats all my life, and you are right, introductions are very important. Take it slowly and make sure Tootsie still gets all the attention she is used to, plus a...

How this Aussie mum dries her clothes in record time — and you can too!

The only things I put in the dryer straight from the washing machine are towels, they do come out lovely and soft, and yes, I always add a dry towel too. I also use wool dryer balls, better than tennis balls.

The ‘best’ dishwashing product of 2023 – and it only costs $1.90!

I get contact dermatitis, so have to use very gentle, natural detergents. I find Abode dishwashing liquid is really good, but it's only available at health food stores. Morning Fresh and Fairy are the worst for my skin!

Is the Today Show's recent segment out of touch with Australia's financial crisis?

I've noticed lately that all the SDC articles have big blank spaces in them, like really big spaces between paragraphs? Or maybe space for a photo but one was not used? Also there are blank comment boxes amongst the comments too. Is it just my computer?

This parking rule cost a woman ‘nearly $900’: ‘I had no idea’

I often see the garbo dealing with this situation. The "arm" can extend right out over parked cars and still easily pick up the bins. Personally I wouldn't risk parking my car there in case it got scraped, but plenty in my street do it!

    ‘Unseen’ Crisis Hitting Australia Hard

Why Making Your Bed Should Be the Last Thing on Your Morning To-Do List

I leave my bed for about half an hour to air, and always give the top sheet and doona a good shake when making the bed. I really can't stand an unmade bed though! Also, we have always had timber bed bases with slats and plenty of space underneath for ventilation. I don't like solid bed bases...

Heads up, shoppers! Woolworths is scrapping 15c reusable plastic bags in two more states

I am looking after my green bags, neither Coles nor Woolies sell them any more!

Lamb lovers, rejoice! Record-high supply could mean lower prices in 2023

Lamb is our family's favourite meat. Number one is roast lamb cooked on the Weber barbecue. Also good mid-loin chops and lamb backstrap are yummy and very versatile. Our butcher cuts the chops really thick, so they are never tough.

Coles' NEW irresistible hot cross bun flavours

I just bought some blueberry and white chocolate hot cross buns from Baker's Delight. I do love traditional hot cross buns, but I have food intolerances and can't have sultanas or apples. So I am really looking forward to trying one of these with my morning coffee!

Surprising milk choices Australians are making - What types of milk is most popular?

I am lactose intolerant and also can't tolerate soy or oat milk. I drink lactose free milk in tea and coffee, and I have almond milk on cereal, but I'm fussy about the brand, some almond milk tastes awful!
