It's the only way to manage the bills - have no air-con, a few fans, but have really felt the heat this year - we do not live in a brick house either - it has many times made me feel physically sick - take more showers then & keep hydrated -...

Are you ready for a bigger pension? Here's how millions are getting their boost

I am in agreeance with what you are expressing - i am not angry - just frustrated that pple have to jumps thru hoops to get the help they need - the march increase is not significant! Welfare recipients have always been under the poverty line...

Services Australia not meeting own processing time standards, data reveals

It sounds like c/link also needs workshops & training in how to perform their work in a much more timely manner, as in time management skills! This happens a lot due to shortage of staff, and absentee due to burnout - gov't just needs to employ...

Services Australia not meeting own processing time standards, data reveals

That's disgusting - seek further assistance from the complaints number which c/link provides, to advise of your financial situation which is now in crises (no payments as yet). With children to feed, call the welfare services in your area, to ask for...

Services Australia not meeting own processing time standards, data reveals

And sadly for c/link recipients they are the ones that are being financially affected, causing undue stress, particularily if they already have existing health issues.

Are you ready for a bigger pension? Here's how millions are getting their boost

I don't think anyone would whinge if their pensions where doubled - why would we need to move - when we are still living below the poverty line in this country on the amounts of c/link benefits that one receives!

Services Australia not meeting own processing time standards, data reveals

Oh that's sad, "grossly understaffed because they are underpaid"? are you then saying that pple are not applying for c/link jobs because the pay is not good? and what about the pple that are waiting for payments from their claims for months and...

Services Australia not meeting own processing time standards, data reveals

Maybe he could assist pple with at least food payments of around $200 a week out of his wages/super and politicians on high incomes to do the same. They can then wait for re-imbursement of this for months and months on end - even then they...

Are you ready for a bigger pension? Here's how millions are getting their boost

Why would he care - he has no idea - for a start he would have to live it to experience how it feels for a pensioner on an aged pension with daily living expenses, utilities, food, medicines, car etc - in stating this every tiny bit helps - nearly...

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

That would be a welfare officer, and he may not have said anything, he was having brain surgery and also was in recovery from surgery. He submitted, not sure when, a medical certificate himself that he thought would and should have covered him.

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

Nor should one line be answered faster than another - possibly would have been easier to go into an ATO if living in a city that has one? or is it all on-line now!

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

It's an irresponsible way for a service to deal with pple in crises & on low incomes, for the customer to then have to try and reach this service for the help they are needing! And a lot of times getting cut off and having to start again - no...

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

I am pretty sure they have to send a letter stating why your payment has been stopped, you need to make contact with the c/link appeals section of c/link. A DSP is granted and will last for 2 yrs and then it gets reviewed every 2 yrs to see if...

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

My apologies but i don't think they are concerned about the Human part of their service, it is all about saving monies and this includes having less workers to pay!

Brain tumour survivor slams Centrelink after support payments cut off mid-recovery

I am pretty sure it is the job network agency appointment not the med cert - those 2 agencies do not advise each other about updated information - they rely on the person themselves doing this.
