That's quite true. Solar panels degrade over time and batteries have a finite life. If the true cost of depreciation of the system is taken into account, it's a very different story.

Another similar dishonest trend is where people sign up for a free trial of a home delivery meal service with the full intention of cancelling the service once the "free" meal has been delivered.
