It's a slang term for a loved one

Bae refers to a significant other, but it can also be used for a close friend or someone you really like.
It has also replaced the word Babe as a term of endearment

BAE - BEFORE ANYONE ELSE - a term of endearment that can be applied, it seems, to a partner, friend, pet or even things.

Baby

B before A anyone E else .

bae - short for baby

Actually, it's short for 'babe' (bay-b) a term of endearment, as we all know,
not 'baby' (bay-bee) a newborn, very young or small.

Bbefore anyone else

Grandkids would probably refer to Bae as a good friend or boyfriend/girlfriend. Short for Babe
