Sooner or later the scammongrels will work out a way whereby an email with a legit "from" address finds a way to snare you in their grubby bloody hands without any action from you other than to simply receive the message in the first place.

yeh I agree the internet has become a mine field for people especially elderly, someone has tried to access my mygov recently and I am locked out.........a trip up the road is needed for me I think

When I get an email like this one I always check my MGov account and 9 times out of 10 there is nothing there.

I concur, I always double check with the app. I never click on any email or txt msg links.
I'm a proud 'Blocker' and a 'Spam/Scam Reporter'. I won't even answer a phone call unless you're a Contact!! If it's that important, leave a msg!! 😂😂🌻

I alway check into Mygove and look for messages from them as well But nothing there and I NEVER click any links on suspicious emails either

The email address it came from is a dead giveaway straight off the bat.

Yes I have received several of these. One even said I might have to do an adjustment.

One of the things I love about my iPhone is that when I click on the link to the senders email credentials it shows me the random email address and confirms the spam.

If they look “legit” then I go in via the MyGov app itself or through a browser - never those links.

Is just good to see SDC members being Vigilant with these scams

HI i had this happen last week with the scam

Always check the senders address, this one should be hung by his balls from a tree.

Have seen several MyGov emails but one I recently received is from CentreLink.
I have nothing to do with CentreLink so already know it is bogus.

There are so many these days - i never open any of them. Always either go online or to the app. Safer.

I received the exact email and just deleted

Can't subscribers communicate using proper English. Many elderly users may not always understand modern computer speak. For example what is an "addy". Meaningless to most people.

I always check the senders details - if it ain't the business, it ain't legit - I report for phising to the appropriate business then delete. I never reply to unsolicited emails -I call the business - saves a lot of stress (well not always if it's government and you sit for 2 hours on hold)
