Underground Forts

In Queensland about 19 47 at Redcliffe we were stopped and told NEVER DIG CUBBIES IN THE WALLS OF SAND.
Apparently, two kids did so, on the Gold Coast and the whole lot collapsed on them and suffocated both.
So digging holes for cubbie houses was band.
Whether it was the Gold Coast or somewhere else could be a fact .. Can't really remember where, for sure , but it did happen, (Courier Mail, I think)

Also happened to kids I knew in Victoria they died in a beach trench cave in it’s so dangerous.🙁

It is extremely dangerous without shoring.
And so sad that kids lost their entire lifetime because they were not informed or properly supervised
