Would you be OK with your parcel being tossed like this?

Some deliveries are worth the wait—but others leave you wondering if it would’ve been safer to just pick it up yourself.

One Aussie recently captured a driver’s questionable delivery tactic on camera, and it sparked a major online debate.

Let’s just say, not everyone was thrilled with the method—even if the package survived the journey.

The clip, which first surfaced on social media, showed a delivery driver—allegedly from StarTrack—throwing a package over a customer’s fence.

‘From a couple weeks ago…’ the original poster wrote alongside the video.

‘I mean at least he actually delivered it and didn’t leave a card.’

Some viewers saw the humour in it, noting how rare it was for parcels to actually make it to the front door, let alone the yard.

‘Kept it out of the rain too. Bang up service,’ one person said.

‘Trust me, your parcel has been through a lot worst through the sorting facility, this is nothing,’ added another.

‘Wow, a parcel not delivered to the post office but [to your] actual home? This is the best AusPost delivery I’ve seen,’ a third joked.

Another commenter even wished they received similar treatment:

‘Honestly I wish they would do this with my deliveries instead of another failed delivery. Hope your stuff was ok though.’

But not everyone took it lightly.

‘The companies have a lot to answer for, we're paying for our s*** to be delivered, not for you to squeeze every last micro efficiency out of the process. Anybody caught yeeting a package across the floor should be kicked out, not given an award for efficiency. No respect,’ one person raged.

‘That's insane?! Imagine if it had been glass or something,’ another wrote.

Others raised safety and privacy concerns, pointing out that the package was still technically exposed.

‘Other than the throwing and not attempting to open the gate, the issues I have are, one, its technically exposed to weather even though it landed in non wet area from rain, and [two,] it’s visible through the gate which if isn't locked, is visible to footpath/road which isn't right,’ a user explained.

In a statement, a spokesperson from Australia Post said they would like the customer to reach out directly.

‘We are keen to look into this matter further and encourage the customer to get in touch with us directly via our website or calling 13 POST (13 7678),’ they said.

It’s clear the footage divided viewers—but it also reignited frustration with delivery standards across the country.

A separate video has surfaced showing Australia Post workers carelessly throwing packages—echoing the same delivery concerns raised in this story.

See it for yourself and decide if this is the service standard we should accept.

If that parcel toss left you shaking your head, you’re not the only one watching delivery habits more closely.

In another eye-opening moment caught on camera, a different Australia Post driver’s actions sparked serious questions about what actually happens to express parcels.

It’s a story that adds to the growing frustration around delivery standards—and it might make you double-check your tracking number.

My experience with Aus Post deliveries is absolutely 100% positive. The couple who deliver our parcels are perfect. They are delivered to our door, the deliverer sings out 'parcel', hits the doorbell/camera and even calls me by name when delivering.
You’re one of the lucky ones, I’ve had expensive items requiring a signature left at the front step (one driver even signed on my behalf!). I’ve had alcohol delivered without a signature which, I believe, is against the law. I’ve had parcels thrown. Drivers rarely ring the doorbell. And all this while I have a larger mailbox out the front with a section clearly marked “Parcels”!

I get excellent service through Australia Post in the town where I live. My parcels
are always delivered to the door.
However a parcel I sent to my daughter in law was thrown on the doorstep despite FRAGILE being printed on it in big red letters. Needless to say it broke.
AusPost accepted no responsibility as we couldn't prove the driver threw it.🤷

I've had some very expensive parcels delivered to the wrong address. It was a holiday home, visits by the owner on a very random schedule. This was not Aus Post, it was Star Trak who claimed no responsibility as they had palmed it off to a third party who they wouldn't/couldn't name. Only got our parcels thanks to a gentleman who lived on the same street as the holiday house. He door-knocked the surrounding area until he found me. Not all heros wear capes

Yeah, Star Track are not the best. Where we used to live they didn’t ever attempt deliveries in the area and just took the items straight to the post office. The posties complained regularly but nothing changed. Where we live now there doesnt seem to be a problem and we’ve had deliveries straight to the door. Plus as I’ve said a few times Australia Post are super efficient where we live and I definitely have no complaints about them

I have changed my delivery instructions to Australia Post Only and have had no problems since doing that. Star Track are the worst culprits. So lazy! And no care whatsoever shown to my parcels. They are shameful and shouldn't still be in business. Australia Post I have found to be great.

If I saw a courier drop my parcel over the fence or tossed at the front door, the only outcome would be courier being dropped - like a sack of shit that he OR she was.

But this doesn't apply to me. ALL of my purchases are made IN PERSON only.
