Are there books that changed the way you see the world?

Just wrapped up Animal Farm and wow, what a perspective shift I got! It’s amazing how a great book can transport you and make you rethink the world. 📚 Anyone else had a book shake up their worldview? Let’s share the stories that stuck with us and swap recommendationss while we’re at it. Settle in and let the book chat begin! I'm excited to read a book or two from your favourites list.

When I arrived in Australia 55 years ago I met a wonderful elderly woman who suggested that I read 3 books that she thoroughly recommended as an introduction to the real Australia.

They were
1 We of the never never.
2 No roads go by.
3. Crow on a barbed wire fence.

How right she was. Sadly I don't have the books anymore but they taught me so much about the wonderful land I now call home.

1984. I remember reading all about Big Brother and what the future may hold when I was at school. Scary how much of this has come true
Thanks for sharing, @Mikev! I actually can't wait to read this next. I took a break from reading brain-busting books for now, but 1984 seems promising!

Wow, that's such a lovely encounter, @JackiW! I hope you were able to share what you learned with others too 😊 I'm sad to hear that you don't have the books anymore, and I totally understand how it feels since I treasure my books as if they were jewels. Can you share more things that you read from these books? I'd love to hear them! 🙏🏻

I have really enjoyed any books by Nora Roberts and for historical books Phillipa Gregory.
Some of my family members used to read Nora Roberts, and I love some of her titles. What's your favorite, @starrysnan? I'll also try picking up some books by Phillipa Gregory. I'm definitely a fan of historical books, especially historical romances 🥰
