Remember basic maths from high school.

0=0.jpeg

4(4-3-1)= 5(4-3-1)
(4-3-1)=0
4(0)= 5(0)
0=0

(4-3-1)=0
Cannot divide by zero, therefore (4-3-1)/(4-3-1) cannot be balanced out to become 1 as implied.

0 = 0

Anything multiplied by 0 = 0. Simple.
4(4-3-1) = 4x0 =0
4(4-3-1)= 5(4-3-1)

Where in the equation is a division?

Agree, the equation in the brackets equals 0 and any number multiplied by 0 equals 0. Therefore, 0=0

I can't see where the 5 comes in.

Factorisation ... left hand side has each number divided by 4 .... right hand side everything is divided by 5. these factors are placed outside the brackets.

Well done everyone ... your high school maths has not been forgotten.

Where in the equation is a division?
Division is part of the factorization process. (4-3-1) has been crossed out because of division that has occured in the process not shown.
