Who remembers those adorable little soft-felt baby shoes with bells on them? The gentle jingle with every tiny step, a sound that lets you know exactly where the little one was. Have you ever given your kids a pair of these? Share your memories here.

Our 42 year old son had these gorgeous little shoes in red with the bells on them when he was learning to walk and then walking. Was great you could hear him tinkling along.

So true, I know I feel I’m a lot more cautious with our Granddaughter.
Yes ,as I was reminiscing and responding, the same thought came to mind, they would probably not sell them now!!!Amazing our children all survived as opposed to the new age of being on the alert for EVERYTHING .
Does anyone else remember being told in our maternity classes to put your baby on its stomach as the baby instinctually will turn its head and help strengthen the neck muscles, and always on back after a feed on pillow to avoid milk coming back up?????
No pillows period anymore and if you put your baby face down on its stomach and face you'd be sent to jail.!!!!!

I put all four of my babies to bed on their tummies.
No problems with any of them.

There are now so many new rules. One is the baby needs to sleep halfway down the cot. Apparently to stop the baby going fully under the blankets .

Yep but to answer little boy, they were hardly embarrassing and very lat minute at the time. They were not all red with lace,we are remembering the bells
What was embarrassing?
Seeing the kids barefoot and without clothes on top, as their feet were better off and could ground themselves!!!More like the parents could buy another Coolabah of wine with what the baby shoes cost and shorts reaching ankles with large sandals when they could hardly walk.
Very judgmental sdc member sorry to all the ladies with our nice memories.
Never fails, you gave a nice memory, someone has to trash your memory.Maybe jealous cos their kids couldn't afford them?????????

I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and littleboy didn't like them and that's OK. Her comment isnt taking away our memories.

There are plenty of things I think are now ugly that we used in the 70s and 80s.

These slippers my eldest a girl had them in both red and blue and I remember even putting them on her over her bonds jumpsuit
